Best of the Alps - have fun in the Grindelwald youth hostel! It is undoubtedly one of the most comfortable hostels in the Alps. The welcoming cosiness has remained, but modern bedrooms and practical facilities for groups and families have now been added. More than ever before, the youth hostel is a rendezvous for sport fans and young guests from all over the world who want to experience the impressive world of the mountains around Grindelwald. The youth hostel is fully equipped to accommodate families or groups together. The same applies for individual travellers from all over the world. Forget the venerable youth hostel sleeping bag; with us you dream under a duvet. You stay either in the rustic main building or in the modern, functional annexe. The main house still bears all the hallmarks of the original Grindelwald construction method. The room with the fireplace and the various recreation rooms radiate that cosiness which is so typical of houses in this area. Accommodation Main building: 2 rooms with 2 beds 5 rooms with 4 beds 6 rooms with 6 beds 1 room with 9 beds New building: 5 rooms with 2 beds and WC/shower 13 rooms with 4 beds Total 131 beds Showers and WCs on every floor. *PLEASE NOTE: There is an extra charge for Non-YHA-Members of CHF 6.00 per night, payable on arrival* Tourist taxes of CHF 2.30 per person/day are not included in the price and must be paid on arrival. Check in from 04.00 to 10.00 pm

This is my favourite European hostel! It's a trek up a big hill to reach, but worth it. Breakfast is yogurt, cereal, meat, cheese, bread, and you look out from the balcony over the Eiger while eating. Nice rooms, clean bathrooms, and lovely fireplace to unwind and read at the end of the day.

Great hostel for relaxing in and enjoying the mountains. More of a family hostel with older folk and their kids than a "youth" hostel but that was just what I wanted. View was fantastic, breakfast was good, evening meal over priced for what you got but did save walking that hill.

This was by far the best hostel we have stayed in. The rooms were hotel standard and the breakfast was extremely generous.

We went at the very end of the season but the view on a clear day was phenomenal. Odd mix of people but nice and homey place where you can sit by the fire and relax after a long day in the swiss alps.

I stayed there at Christmastime and it was truly a Christmas I won't forget. The hostel is nestled in the mountains, surrounded by spectacular views, and is more of a family orientated hostel. The 30min walk uphill to get here is worth it for the views! No kitchen is a disadvantage.

It is a LONG STEEP walk from the town up the hill to the hostel. But the views from the rooms are amazing. The staff are super friendly and helpfull.
