I found this hostel to be of a high standard but with a good deal or rules. The kitchen has designated opening times and even then it was closed. A nice place to visit though and we'd go back to Grindelwald again but maybe try somewhere else to stay.

Family style hostel in a tourist trap. But other than that an excellent hostel.

The hostel was a good base for adventure, but we thought it was right in Grindewald, when it is actually in Grund, and hiking to and from Grindewald gets tiring. The room and bathrooms were clean, but just a bare bones place. Staff were friendly.

good stay overall, close to station, nice breakfast included. bed sheets cost extra, and the reception is only occupied till 10am and from 4pm till 9pm. in my case i was early and would have liked to leave my luggage somewhere, which i couldnt as no staff was there.

Great hostel! Very easy to find (especially with its bright aqua-blue color) and only a 10-15 minute walk to the center of Grindelwald.

Definitely go in the summer or winter if you want things to do and to meet other people. Spring blows because there aren´t any other people around.

The location is very good for Jungfraujoch as the hostel is very close to Grund cable car station. But from the Grindelwald station, you have to walk for 20 to 30 minites. Hostel is good but you cannot lock your door and it is a bit far to toilet and shower room. And you have to pay 5 CHF for...

excellent location and great views,my only small complaint is that that there was hardly ever anyone at reception. anyone can walk straight in and go where ever they like inside the hostal. breakfast was fine and so was the room.

the view is so good. and the breakfast is very nice also. however, if the toilet is more secured will be better, maybe some locks can be added for the bathroom

The breakfast here is fabulous, and the hostel is really nice. Our room was really big and had a sink in it. But we had to pay five franks per person for a blanket each night, and that was lame. So just bring a sleeping bag.

Great place to stay! Seconds from the Grund train station and the ski slopes! REMEMBER to bring your own sleeping bag/bedding because it costs extra if you don't.

Very relaxing hostel in a beautiful place. Not hard to find at all. The common room is quite nice, with table tennis, couches, TV, etc.

This was the perfect location for skiing and sledging in Grindelwald. It was exactly 1 minute each between the train station, where you take the train up to Kleinne Scheidegg and the Mannlichen gondola. It has a pool table, ping pong table, foosball and a tv in the lobby. Breakfast is included...

I went in low season, so sometimes the staff was not around to help. If your lucky you will get a free locker, if not 5 franks is alot everyday

Great hostel. Might be a good idea to have a shower on the same floor as the room instead of having to go to the ground floor.

Absolutely one of the best hostels around. Highly recommended, but watch out the "Love Room" for courples is more like what it sounds than just a funny name.

When I... more This was the most terrible place which I ever experienced. It¡¯s a horror, terror. Especially female staff, I even don¡¯t want to imagine it. Above all, I warn that everybody who considers this hostel should remind my case. I experienced robbery-level bill and racial insult. When I arrived this hostel in the evening, a male staff, Kurt Egger(?), did my check-in. In my check-in process, I definitely asked that linen and towel were free or charge, and he answered repeatedly that those were free. In addition, I asked about cooking facility and he answered that was not free. But next day in my check-out process, I heard that I should pay for the linen and towel from a different female staff. So, I said to her that the male staff, Kurt Egger told me that those were free. But she asked me that I should pay because it was their rule. I was totally embarrassed, so required to call Kurt Egger, but she denied and continuously required to pay for that. When I maintained that that was nonsense, and before meeting a male staff, Kurt Egger I couldn¡¯t pay, then suddenly she said that if I would not pay her hostel would never allow the stay of the Japanese. Why did I hear this insult? I¡¯m still uncomfortable and can¡¯t understand the way of her thought, intention, and price difference of two staffs. Please, anybody be careful. In addition, it¡¯s totally different from the photo images, don¡¯t expect a nice and beautiful ordinary Swiss house. Moreover, the location is very hard to find. If you are a walking traveler, you may take almost thirty minutes to find the hostel.close
