Olympia is extremely small and basically the attraction is the ancient ruins and the old olympic dirt track. It has a lot of restaurants, shops, and hotels to cater to the tourists. There is also a museum that is free with admission to the ruins and two others that are free.

We found Olympia surprisingly compact and easy to navigate. Even if your hotel isn't right next to the entrance to the ruins, you won't have much of a walk to get there. The locals were genuinely friendly and restaurants have good service and food. Our kids enjoyed the stadium, the archeological museum and the "five-star hotel" where ancient Greeks stayed during the games.

This is a must see site but the town leaves something to be diesired it is very small and very touristy -- not a very good combo.

You come to Olympia if you are passionate about history, art and civilisation. If you are, then Olympia's setting, site and museum will leave you deeply satisfied. The modern town that has grown up alongside to accommodate visitors is pleasant enough for one or two nights.

This is a very small and quiet town. It consists of a little main street and the site with museums.

Lets face it, you only come to Olympia to see the Old site\' It costs 9 euros to see the museum and site, 6 euros if you just want to see the old site. Its really interesting and you can run down the track where the athletes ran 1000s of years ago! There are heaps and heaps of souvenieer shops, cafes etc, one supermarket. Athens is a bit cheaper, but Olympia is still cheap compared to say Rome. Definitely worth a look!

Olympia is overrated. I went in thinking it was going to be amazing and it was juts good. there are a few really great cafes to eat and have wine (awesome wine!) but all that is there is the ruins... def can be done in a day!
