Galway horse races takes place the last week of July/first week August and they are a must if you are visting the city. Be warned though accommodation is very limited so book well in advance. There are buses heading out from Eyre Sq each day of the 7 day race meet and are well worth it. Be warned though accommodation is very limited so book well in advance. There are buses heading out from Eyre Sq each day of the 7 day race meet and are well worth it. It's up to you how much money you want to spend on some bets but you could be lucky unlike me this year!! You can indulge yourself in the champagne tent or mingle with the punters! Really is great fun and the party conintues in Galway city in the evenings.close
