For the traditional fish and chips you cannot beat this place, you have not had a good take away until you try here. You can have a take out or you can sit in the seafood restaurant. |

I have been to Galway 3 times and this is my favorite restaurant. The food is beautiful and delicious, the atmosphere is comfortable and cosy. It is the BEST! and at reasonable prices too! |

If you looking for a healthy snack, you should try this coffee shop. They do great smoothies and it's perfect for breakfast. The price is reasonable and the service is very efficient. |

Okay picture it, you spent the weekend in Galway and have had a couple of pretty hectic nights out. You are tired and hungover and want something to eat. Couch Potatas is the answer. And I don't say that lightly. This cafe is just off shop street and outside of natives it isnt that well known. Maybe i should keep it a secret so i can be sure of getting a table there next time I visit! The menu is simple, baked potatos with any amount of fillings, but these go beyond the usual toppings; they have everything! The potatoes are oven baked and huge with crispy skins and some of my favorite fillings include chicken with creamy garlic sauce or sausages, beans and cheese. They also have a very long and very tasty vegetarian menu. prices range from 6 euros upwards and one of these spuds is sure to fill you for the day. They also do home made desserts including apple pie and rhubarb crumble, and they have a good childrens menu. Honestly, I would rave about this place all day if I could, make sure you visit it next time you are in Galway! |

I really enjoy Nimmo's any time I'm in Galway. It's a weird looking place - used to be the mediaval customs house (one Christopher Columbus is reputed to have visited...) but inside it's all wooden tables, atmosphere and very good fresh food. Very pleasant waiting staff as well! |

2 of us had a lovely meal on a saturday night in this busy Galway restaurant. We were there for the 9.30pm sitting. The restaurant had a super buzz, the food was lovely, they specialise in seafood. This is ideal for a romantic meal, a meal out with friends or a relaxed lunch. Make sure to book in advance. |

If you are a veggie (like me) or just like healthy grub this cafe/restuarant in Galway is ideal for you. It was so good we visited it twice! Gourmet sandwiches, pasta, quiche and salads are on offer here. We sat outside on a communal table but there are many tables upstairs, staff are friendly and chatty and food is homemade and healthy. |

Having gone to Nimmos many times I was delighted to hear that it was to reopen...however be careful what you wish for. Upon arrival we were shoeved at a table on top of kitchen and in path of waiting staff, we ordered and after receiving starters and wine promptly were waiting well over an hour for main courses, on excuse or apology was given for this delay. We also commented on the heat and were told it was not their fault. After the meal was over we spoke to the supervisor who apologised but told us was not her fault and in fact because of the delay we has caused them to become delayed!!!! No recompense was offered not even a bottle of water...which I hasten to add cost €5!!
It will be a long time before I return...oh and by the way the food is only so so anyway :) |

Very impressive restaurant located near the Spanish Arch. Service was prompt and food arrived out very quickly. Restaurant was packed so we are at the tables out front. Always seems to be busy which is a very good sign. Serves traditional irish and Italian food. Highly reccommended |

I think there are a few of these in Galway but we went to the one on Middle St. Someone recommended it to us and it was the perfect spot to find tasty grub to satisfy us in our hungover state! We headed here for breakfast both days and the freshly squeezed juices and breakfast paninis worked wonders! They also do a good selection of coffees and sandwiches as well as muffins and cakes. The mini chocolate and carrot cakes looked delicious. Arabica was very busy both times we went and is a refreshing break from the usual Starbucks and Cafe Sol type places. |

Great little French restaurant on Quay St Galway. Very good crowd there when we were there but it was during the Galway races so that would make a difference. Seems to be a favourite with the locals that is always a good sign. Not expensive. |

Pretty standard Italian fare in Galway city. The place is nice enough and we were lucky to get a table for a group during race week. The service is ok and it's fine or a cheap and cheerful bite to eat. |

I ate here a while back, so it may have changed in the meantime, but I still think it's worth trying. A nice tasteful restaurant at the bottom of Quay Street, the food was very successful modern Irish - excellent lamb and fish, for example. The wine list too offered some very very good mid-price range Italian wines. |

I wish I had checked out the dates of the awards posted outside this restaurant before we went in, I can only guess that they were quite out of date. It is such a pity because the building is so lovely and cosy looking it promised a unique experience, but did not deliver. We were greeted by the (only) waitress, who was very pleasant throughout, and seated in a room just off the kitchen which was grubby, with quite uncomfortable chairs and a table that is reminiscent of school tables. The menu came to us on a single white A4 page, my partners was stained and torn, and there was very little to choose from. We did at that stage consider leaving, but good manners dictated we stay, I did see a party of four leaving without ordering anything. The only thing I felt I could eat was the Guinea Fowl, which was a first for me so I'm not going to post my opinion of that as I have nothing to compare it to. My partner had the Sea bass special which was very nice, but again it was the only thing that appealed to him in the slightest from the menu. We both skipped the starter as nothing listed sounded appetising. Service in all was quite slow, but not unfavourably slow in good company. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant, and will not be returning. |

Really nice cafe just off shop st in Galway. Not open that long. Really nice decor and atmosphere. They sell fresh breads and you can order freah organic food to bring home. Also the cafe serves lovely organic fresh food. We had breakfast there and it was really good. |

The place itself is nice but everything else is a disaster. The service is chaotic and the food is below average. Would not recommend to anyone. |
