Galway is a great city to visit for a weekend, it's got the best night life around. Very easy city to get around. Plenty of accommodation centrally too. |

Great place to go. Always have the most fun when I visit. Whether its to the bars on Shop street in Galway city or out to Connemara or Clifden to take a swim in the Atlantic ocean (next stop America!) and sample the delights of the towns out there, Galway is never a place to disappoint! |

I've been in Galway more times than I can remember and I never get sick of going back. I love everything about it. It's one of the most fun and friendliest cities on the planet. |

Galway is my home county, and though I dont get to the city too often its still one of my favourite cities in Ireland. Its smaller than Dublin and Cork, has probably as many pubs, bars and clubs! and its just great fun. Its located by the sea too so you can walk from the city centre to Salthill in about half hour. Galway has great restaurants too, all in city centre. Great thing about Galway is you can pretty much walk everywhere. The train station is right in middle of the town, as is the bus station. If you have longer than a weekend in Galway, there are lots of things you can do like visit the Cliffs of Moher, head out to Connemara etc. If you are in Ireland, definitely recommend a visit here. |

I love Galway - after Dublin it's my favourite city in Ireland. There's a lovely atmosphere there; it has a small city center that is very well kept with some nice restaurants and a good pub scene, many offering traditional music. It's quite a party town, with lots of young Dubliners going there for weekends.. The area around Galway is incredibly beautiful - Connemara to the north and west, the Burren to the south. On the outskirts of Galway you have the resort of Salthill - not particularly interesting, but a nice promenade in bracing, Atlantic sea air... |

People just sit with beers on the pier/seashore and enjoy the weather and eachother. There are amazing shops, pubs, day trips to all of Ireland, and beyond. A great choice. |

This place is brimming with culture and attitude, but you may want to avoid it if you're looking for a peaceful trip with a partner. That being said, the people are friendly, and the craic is second to none. |

I enjoyed my stay immensely at Gardenfield accommodation.. The, hospitaly shown to me was first class. It is situated near the city close to public transport, I got a warm welcome from the genial host and i was very impressed by the attention to detail. I will definitely return to this homely environment. |

this hostel is a really good deal and its SO CLOSE to the bus/train station so it makes life a lot easier. plus, its a nice walk to all the pubs and good places to shop and eat and sightsee. if you are debating whether or not to stay here, just do it! |

Galway is a fun city with the friendliest, most welcoming and fun people one could imagine. The Irish know how to have a good time and they seem to congretate to Galway to do exactly that on St. Patty's, leaving the tourists in Dublin. Unfortunately, there is little else to do than drink and wander from store to store and other than Eyre square, there are few things to sightsee unless you take a day-trip outside the city. Also, it isn't just the city that is expensive but all of Ireland. |

college town! close to the cliffs of moher and aran islands and lots of tours from galway! |

eyre square next to the station is so lovely. there are very nice cozy pubs with tracitional irish music here. |

The full irish breakfast is a bit of a joke, with only sausage, eggs and ham (and toast, but that's just par for the course). Need to mix in some beans, hash browns, or mushrooms. A big lighter on the white bread and heavier on the brown.
Also, the TV in our room didn't get ANY reception, even the basic stations came in VERY snowy. |

Wow, i loved it. i wasn;t sure what to expect but had such a fantastic time...helped i am sure by the beautiful weather we had.
Whilst in Galway we experienced the two extremes of accommodation spending on night in the hostel and one night at The G Hotel. Clearley very different places but both lived up to our expectations. would really reommend a vist to this city!!

i found the outing and partying a real disapointment to what everybody had said about Galway and how it was the nightlife city. i found cork and dublin having way better nightlife. |

Galway has everything for everyone. Definately a top destination in Ireland |

Originally, Galway was just a stopping point for my group to catch a plane back home. Instead, we found a great place to spend our last day in Ireland that gave us a good 'sending off' |

Galway has a great buzz about it, especially in summer. We visited on a hot summers weekend, the streets were alive with people sunbathing, eating and drinking in the sunshine. Galway has manged to keep a friendly face thats very welcoming to all visitors. It's a fun city too. |

Galway is probably one of the best cities in Galway and I never tire of going back there. A vibrant university town, it's alive and buzzing. There's something for everyone, good shopping, good scenery, good partying and good people. Whether you are in Galway city as a start off point for a trip around the West or are there for a short break, you will love it. Just ignore the rain! |

Galway is nothing if not saturated with bars, bistros, cafes, nightclubs ... and even a healthy sprinkling of off-licences if al fresco takes your fancy! A visit to Galway in the summer time - especially in July/August - will really show the city's fondness for food and drink in all it's glory. The highlight for me is the Quay Street area, down toward the Claddagh, where you will find yourself tripping over the chairs, stools and keg tables that line the streets. Bazaar pub is a must for indoor or out. Sunshine or sitting-out weather however is far from guaranteed in the rainy west..but just don your wellies and find a cosy indoor retreat if the rain hits your holiday. And try the Guinness in Tigh Neachtain's :) |

The city of the tribes or so they say - managed to stumble across the Shannon to Galway for a stag party. Very lively city with plenty of things to do. Great atmosphere. Food and drink are priced reasonably. Weather wasnt great but craic made up for that. All the main shops, pubs and nightclubs are within walking distance of each ohter |

Great place for a weekend! Really comes alive during race week which is the last week in July (week before the August bank holiday weekend) every year. Cool pubs, nice people and a nice laid back atmosphere, except during Arts week and Race week when it's like a big outdoor festival with everyone drinking in the streets! |

big student town, great place to party |

Galway has a lot to offer. Great parties. Great landscapes all around like the Connemara, the Aran Islands... |
|

This is a complete party city. There area about a hundred pubs and bars in one square mile and its largely pedestrian only. If you go to galway be sure also to take a day trip to the countryside and the Mohen cliffs with a tour company. Well worth the trip to the west coast of Ireland. Super nice people in Ireland. Cheers! |

Vegetarians will have a hard time in Galway as the food is somewhat traditional or overly Americanized. |

good location; rooms were a bit dirty |

Colourful and pretty shops are worth a look. |

Lovely place, just don't come in the winter! Not only is there a lot of rain, but also a lot of wind which makes umbrella-weilding an impossible and pointless task. Pub-life is grand here...Check out Massimo's for a nice, cosy atmosphere, Roisin Dubh or King's Head for live music, and the Living Room for a more nightclub-like feel. There are three main day trips you can take from here - Aran Islands, Cliffs of Moher, and Connemara. These are listed from best to worst. |

galway is the place to visit in ireland |

I adore this city! You walk down bustling cobblestone streets and encounter a myriad of street performers. You feel like chilling out, you sit by the Corrib river with lots of other young people and relax. Tons of pubs, tons of shops, beautiful scenery nearby. Great people. I could live here. Far superior to Cork and Dublin, in my opinino! |

go to galway! |

Galway City is quaintly beautiful. Much more fun and laid back than Dublin and much easier to find \"the craic.\" Strangers will come up to you and tell you jokes, the pints are relatively cheap, and everything has a very artsy yet authentic feel. My friends said it felt very much like a \"college town\".
Galway developed somewhat independently from Dublin and Belfast in the middle ages and you can see the influence of its trade with Spain and France in its wonderful architecture. There\'s less to do here than in Dublin but if you\'re with friends it\'s magic. It\'s supposed to be the fastest-growing city in Ireland. Hell, I\'d live there if there were more to do. |

Galway is a town you can definately explore on foot. People are friendly, and there are nice public area\'s to hung around. Doesn\'t luck of pubs and shops with character,Salthill is 20 minutes walk if you want to have a walk near the sea,and there are organised tours in Connemara if you don\'t have your own car and want to explore a bit of the countryside. The only problem is,it seems to get expensive,as everywhere in Ireland. Usually after a bit of research, you can get good value for money though(accomondation, food etc). |

Nice place to be expecially for people who like good music, good drinks, partying with others from all over the world. Price level is lower compared to Dublin. Galway offers huge selection out of pubs, lounges, restaurants and clubs, easy accessable. Lots of shopping opportunities. Located directly at the sea! |

The weather was cold, windy and wet - but it makes it all the more rewarding when you can duck into a warm pub for a decently priced pint! There were so many great pubs and shops along the cobbled streets and the people were very friendly. It\'s a beautiful city. |
