Could have been more cleaner and more bathrooms/showers on the upper floor would have been great.

Salmon Weir was kinda hard to find but only because the map that my car rental company gave me was rubbish, the staff were all great, the bed was comfy & everything's right at your doorstep. If I get the chance to return to Galway I'll stay again.

This youth hostel is really warm-hearted and homey. They feel there really well, as in the home. They could remain weeks there. On top of that, the staff is really nice and in listening!

Part of this is due to the wonderful staff, the rest to the moderate number of beds, yet more than adequate kitchen and bath facilities. The layout for the largest bunk room is very good with all beds being next to a wall. For better for worse, about half the beds in that room get great morning light so pick your bunk accordingly.close

unless you've got nowhere to stay, think again when you book this hostel to avoid regret.

Only one toilet for the floor and you have to ring the doorbell anytime you want to come in, it would have been better to have a key.

The building was visibly not design to be an hostel. Small twin bed room. Good enought for a short stay.

Didn't appreicate the out of key sing-along lead by the staff at 4am when my friends and I had to be up at 7 to get to the Aran Islands. It was inconsiderate. Apart from that it was a fine place to crash for the night. I wouldn't go back there for longer than one sleep though.

Far to expensive for what you get comparing to a BB. The staff agreed on that, but the management did't not lower the prices yet. so there wasn't any problem checking out after 1 night.

We only stayed here one night. We booked a private twin room with a shared bathroom. They didn't give us a key to lock our room. But the room & bathroom was very clean and the staff were quite friendly, it was a very quiet hostel too. Plus it was in walking distance to Galway and alot of pubs!

the room was way too small, there was not enough space for all bags and it was always hard to go in and out... additionally our room was stinking. the bathroom has to be cleaned up. and there are no real tables in the kitchen.

One of the worst hostels I've ever been. Stinky sheets an old and uncomfortables beds. The french girl at reception was nice at least. If you can, look for another place in Galway or bring your own sheets instead!!

If you drive, get a good map of the whole city before you go. It's hard to find the hostel and very easy to get very lost. Park across the bridge by the Cathedral; the staff don't know to tell you but that's the best place...

It's great that the common area was loungy because people were more likely to hang out on the comfy couches and meeting others was super easy. Bonus for having a guitar.

Cramped room with no curtains and no key to lock the room! Good location but that's pretty much the only good thing this hostel had going for it. Wouldn't recommend it unless everything else was booked out.

This hostel was OK. It is a great location and the staff does try to keep it clean. The bedding is changed everyday. It is just an old building so it looks dirty most of the time. Also the shower has to be turned on outside of the bathroom.

Some places are just in the wrong spot. This one was really loud at night from the road out front and as the room stank of cigarettes it was a toss up whether suffocation was better than noise abuse.
