Galway guide
Located on the River Corrib in the picturesque West of Ireland, Galway is the major city in the province of Connaught. It is one of the country’s largest cities and is often known as ‘Ireland’s cultural heart’. Various major events are held in the city throughout the year, attracting huge numbers of visitors. These include the Galway Arts Festival which takes place in July and the Galway Races held in August. Galway has a strong tradition of Irish music and dancing, which can be sampled in one of the city’s many lively pubs. Places of interest include the Spanish Arch. Built in 1584 to serve as part of a protective wall; it now houses the Galway City Museum. Following a stroll along the city’s busy shopping street, visitors can relax in the well-known Eyre Square Park.

My friends said it felt very much like a \"college town\". Galway developed somewhat independently from Dublin and Belfast in the middle ages and you can see the influence of its trade with Spain and France in its wonderful architecture. There\'s less to do here than in Dublin but if you\'re with friends it\'s magic. It\'s supposed to be the fastest-growing city in Ireland. Hell, I\'d live there if there were more to do.close

A visit to Galway in the summer time - especially in July/August - will really show the city's fondness for food and drink in all it's glory. The highlight for me is the Quay Street area, down toward the Claddagh, where you will find yourself tripping over the chairs, stools and keg tables that line the streets. Bazaar pub is a must for indoor or out. Sunshine or sitting-out weather however is far from guaranteed in the rainy west..but just don your wellies and find a cosy indoor retreat if the rain hits your holiday. And try the Guinness in Tigh Neachtain's :)close

Beautiful, clean, homey and relaxing! A decent walk from city center, but could be worse. Wonderfully helpful staff. A shopping bag of mine was accidentally thrown away, but the woman at the desk dug through the trash to find it for me! Worth the money for sure.

If you reach the cathedral, you just leave it on your left, go straight until you see a group of many traffic-lights. Turn right and walk alont the street until you see on your left a red house: five...

I previously thought this was a great hotel and I still love it even though some of the rooms are getting tired looking and it is getting more pricey. Great location beside the train station, good bar, good food, excellent spa and leisure centre.
