YHA Franz Josef 85%
Its the same as any other YHA i suppose. Young guy on recpetion is quite moody-Edward.there was a silly dispute-agreed i was wrong, he was just rude the way he acted.(like a little child throwing their toys out of a cot) funny to look at his moody head tho. ALSO the USED BLOODY TAMPON hanging...

– posted on Nov 2008 4Doors too noisy when close. Every time woke up due some door noise. You should fix those springs. Shower awful. Hot water, but the shower seems just some pipe out of the wall.

Fantastic, absolutely amazing! I couldn’t recommend this enough: the half-day trek on the glacier was an unforgettable experience, really beautiful. The trek took us from Franz Josef, through the rainforest and the shale valley up onto the glacier. The guides provided us with the necessary footwear suitable for scaling the glacier and will help you manoeuvre...

Monsoon Bar & Retaurant at Rainforest Retreat100%
We had a great night here. There is a kind of sit down bit and a bar area that feels like an alpine bar with pool table, big roaring open fire and tables which are simply chunks of tree! The beer, wine and bar food here were great, as well as the atmosphere and other punters - which was an odd mix of backpackers, couples, tourers etc. A good night.
