I loved Oxford. It is so quaint, with all the historic buildings, and it\'s cool how everybody rides bikes. There are heaps of cafes to choose from, although the value for money isn\'t exactly brilliant. Still, I\'d really encourage people to go there. |

Nice academic city |

Nicy city, but too crowded, leading to queuing everywhere. Pricey. Must be absolutely lovely in springtime! Good alternative when you get tired of London. |

The hostel is not for light sleepers since the train station is right next door. |

I would go back there in a heart beat. The city, rich heritage, breath-taking university is well worth a trip. |

A good relaxed town, very upmarket and could be seen as snooby, but obivously there is a lot of wealth here! Not a huge amount to do, but good for a couple of days! Nightlife could be a bit better, but we were in the right spirit so still had a top time! |

There's a good vibe to Oxford despite the problem people, its very upbeat.
People are on the move a lot, there's quite a lot of foreign visitors so it's a pretty multicultural place.
You can probably get to do the things you want and get some inspirations along the way. |

Oxford is great if you love history and architechture. But for eating and drinking it is quite expensive and the food is so average for what you pay. We had some of the worst food we have eaten in the UK here. Definately a must see though - it's Oxford the oldest English university! |

I loved it! But I am not partying, so that's the reason for marking the average concerning outgoing and eating (means i didn't experience it! |

Oxford is living history mixed with a party atmosphere at night. The center city nights are a little hectic, but people are enjoying themselves. |

Taiwan is a small island. It is easy for this island to be one mixture of various cultures. There are at least 9 kinds of aboriginal cultures which are close to south Asia and south Pacific, Japanese culture (Taiwan was conquered by Japan before.), few residual culture of Spanish and Holland (Taiwan also conquered by these countries long ago), Chinese culture, and various cultures from many counties ex. UK, USA, Europe¡K. Haulein city is located in eastern part of Taiwan. There is Taroko National Park, in the north-eastern part of the island, faces the Pacific Ocean on the east and covers an area of more than 92000 hectares in the northern section of the Central Mountain Range. The park has many high mountains and steep gorges, with many peaks towering above 3,000 meters in height, and with many natural watersheds. The spectacular Taroko Gorge and the scenic beauty of the Liwu River can be viewed conveniently from the Central Cross-Island Highway. The many waterfalls, diverse forms of plant and animal life, and the indigenous Taroko people, together create the rich texture of this unique natural ecosystem¡D
Dazzling bright sunshine, azure blue seawater, clean shining sand beach¡K, This is Taiwan's first national park¡ÐKenting at approximately the same latitude as Hawaii, renowned for its rich landscape of hills and water, abundant life, and natural resources for everyone's enjoyment.. Kenting National Park is located at the southern tip of Taiwan. With warm climate, pleasant scenery, and easy access, it is one of the most popular resorts, attracting millions of both domestic and foreign tourists every year. The diversified terrain and tropical climate of Kenting have helped breed rich and fertile vegetation ranging from upland to coast with a full variety of living species. |

The time we went was the start of the summer season, as a result there were a lot of students and children in the city. It really was rather crowded. |

Oxford is lovely, but very little people from oxford actually live there. Most of them are going to school from foreign countries. Other than that it is a wonderful town, though the weather was too hot to enjoy most of it. |

A compact town with some amazing buildings, a chilled out atmosphere, and some fascinating historical nuances. |

This is my 3d trip to Oxford, and I must say, it has become quite cosmopolitan for such a small city. The plus side is that there are plenty of fine dining options, cocktail bars and chic night clubs. That is, for me, also the down side. The Oxford of cheap student eats, crowded pubs and bicycles crowding every patch of pavement seems to have disappeared. One can go anywhere in the world to any large city and enjoy those high-end and gourmet establishments. So, for me, the changing face of Oxford means that the unique Oxford with decades - no, centuries - of a very special University atmos seems to have disappeared. And that was a great disappointment. |

I like Oxford but life is so expensive here! |

NIce town with a wonderful ambience. Probably has gained a lot of fans because of it being the backdrop for several scenes in the Harry Potter movies. But aside from that just by itself splendid in its gothic architecture, connected to dozens if not hundreds of interesting stories and historical events |

I felt as tho I had traveled back in time and saw the bldgs as the first students saw them. I went to see "The Oxford Story" and when they learned I was deaf, they arranged to have a manuscript given me for I couldn't hear the audio. How nice! I enjoyed that so much. Oxford is for the young and old at heart! |

Oxford is a quaint university town with its unique blend of historical and modern cultures. From the magnificient churches and delightful markets to the hippest nightclubs and trendiest stores, Oxford has something for everyone.
Get an almond croissant from Queens Lane Coffee Shop early in the morning when its fresh from the oven! Or grab a snack from Ben's Cookies or Moo's Milkshakes in the Covered Market!
For shopping, hop on a bus to Bicester Village Outlet where you can get brand names for great deals!
When it's raining, sit back and relax with a book and a cup of tea (or coffee) at one of Oxford's many cafes.
During the day, look at the city's marvelous architecture (some were used in the Harry Potter films). And at night, party at the clubs in City Centre.
Compared to London, Oxford is definitely more relaxing and manageable for a short vacation! |

Awesome architecture...really neat town. A nice quiet get away from London. Still pay London prices though. |

Great place with history and culture. Visit the castle/prision for a good background. |

We could see a lot of ancient buildings which is still used as colleges. That is quite different from Japan, so I was very surprised and admired that students are studying in the old and nice buildings. |

Nice people! I needed to cancel my reservation, due to private reasons, and they accepted. I arrived there one day earlier. The hostel's policy askes to cancel two days in advance. I showed them the confirmation mail from Hostelworld (which says canceling 24h prior arrival), and they smiled to me and accepted canceling without taking money. Very nice! I was allowed to visit the place and take broshures, nice place, close to the station, easy to find, good value for money! Next time I stay there! |

Oxford is great. It's really easy to get around, and there are many fun places to sightsee and lots of great old pubs. Also, people were really friendly. |

as it was a university town, there were a HUGE number of young people, which was great for me, however for older people too the buildings and historical sights are amazing. and the bars were great. |

I just got done spending a semester here for school. The schoolin' is about as hard as you would imagine, but the city is really beautiful. Come in the spring or the summer. If there's no rain, the parks are a wonderful thing to visit.
It's a pedestrian city, so be prepared to walk. On my hardest field trip day, I spent 5 hours walking. It's probably more like 1 to 2 hours across the day for most though.
Also, the school has apparently been at odds with the city for the last 600 years. Just something to think about. |
