The food court is great &... more This one of the biggest shopping centres in the UK & if you’re on a weekend in Manchester is defiantly worth a visit. It’s got all the regular high street shops under one roof as well as a few designers & departments stores like John Lewis & Selfridges. The food court is great & entertainment wise there are cinemas, bars & family arcades as well all under the one roof. It’s only about 15 minutes on the metro from the centre of Manchester.close

For such a huge stadium... more The Theatre of Dreams; Englands largest Club stadium; home to Manchester United, the worlds greatest football team! Yes, I am a United fan. Have been over to see my team play on several occasions and only once had a bad experience (0-0 with Lille... terrible game!). For such a huge stadium the fans are very close to the pitch and during big games the atmosphere is electric. The wall of sound when Utd score is deafening and the banter with fellow fans is always good fun! For those not attending a game there is a very impressive and comprehensive stadium tour which will bring you through the dressing rooms and even down the tunnel to the sound of screaming fans!! Around the ground there is not a lot to do and I would advise getting there early as the trains get packed! If you wait near the staff car-park after the game you can catch a glimpse of the stars and they usually stay for about 15 mins signing autographs.close

Showing the ongoing restoration work of the Sirens and Ulysses is a great idea, hilarious section with conservators answering questions on small notes of paper (Are you planning to add a dog to the picture - Yes, was thinking of a Spaniel or a labrador). Great interactive section for kids, where I ended up spending some time despite not exactly being a kid... The cafe is really good with lots of tasty patries, but the shop is a bit boring.close
