Plus, I always had this uncomfy feeling that I was nothing more than a walking dollar sign to the locals. Now, i\'m not stereotyping the ppl in this city, i\'m sure there are a lot of kind hearted ppl that would\'ve helped me out... but my defenses were so up from all the bad experiences that I just shut everyone else out.. HOWEVER, this city gives a great insight into the middle eastern lifestyle, it\'s rich history.. and of course, the pyramids WERE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING... hence, I do believe this is a city worth visitng just for the experienceclose

  “ Taxis in Egypt, are cheap ask at the front desk and just pay what the hostel tells you and get out of the cab, Dont ask the driver what it costs, they will double it especially for you. Go to the Egyptian museum, There is a curator named Waheed who speaks English well and knows where all… more the interesting things are. See if he can give you a tour, he's very good. Give him a good tip the museum pays lousey wages. Get a map before you leave the hostel. Don't drink the water and don't get ice in your drinks. Have fun.close
