I just love this city. The Rhein promenade is a great place to chill out. The Altstadt has tons of great bars and clubs (with all kinds of prices). I am not sure of the name of the place, but it is on the main street and has a large key above the door. There are lots of your standard expensive mall type shops in the city. I don\'t think I would make this a long stop on your travels, but a night or two would be good.close

When compare to other German cities, Duesseldorf is vast and ugly city.close

Dusseldorf is not so much on culture, well maybe shopping as a culture it would pass for that. 2. Hotel Am Wehrhahn 86%

The rooms and the breakfast room were nice, but the rest of the building seemed old and the stairs were very steep and there was no elevator. Just a place to sleep, but the location was good, just 3 min walk from the downtown area.

The rooms were very clean with a lot of space in. The staff were also very nice and the breakfast was lovely. It is in an ideal location for the train station and the shops and christmas markets. I would definately reccommend this hotel to anyone.

This place was a great find. Not only are the staff incredibly helpful, but you are given as part of your stay, a tram/train pass. My cousin and I had a wonderful stay here and are looking forward to going back.

A nice budget hotel, which is clean and quite close to the old part of the city and very close to public transport.

Don't be surprised if you meet at the reception chap who could speak neither English nor German :)). Fact that you cant get into your room is a little frustrating after the long journey. Very clean room, nice and friendly staff which tried to make better impression in the morning.Tasty and...
