I have heard about this place alot and have been dying to try it for ages! As its a very popular choice it was always booked up whenever i wanted to go! Eventually got to go at the weekend and while it was a last minute thing and we ended up eating at the bar it was a beautiful meal! I had steak which was delicious and cooked to perfection. I'm a fan of rocket and parmesan salad and this was one of the best ones I have tasted in a while, even throwing a few sun dried tomatoes into the mix! The place has a great atmosphere and the staff were lovely! I'm dying to go back, maybe next time I'll get to eat at a table!! |

I've been meaning to try Jaipur for a while as it always looks busy and the menu is good so we decided to pop in for a quick bite to eat last Thursday evening. The place was busy but we managed to get a table. The place is bright and airy with extra seating upstairs. The Bhatti Murgh Rizala which I had for my main course was quite watery but maybe it was supposed to be like that! The tikka masala was very tasty though and the staff were helpful and efficient. The bill came to about €70 for 2 mains with wine which while not expensive is pricier than other Indian restaurants around. Overall, the food and atmosphere was good and I would try this place again. |

Great spot for after work wind down. Food is as it should be and everything is done with care and attention without the fussiness and frilliness that at best annoys and at worst ruins a meal. Good stuff. |

i used to work here! Its an utter madhouse at the best of times but everything is made with care and the customer is king. Not bad for a glorified diner! If yu are ordering the chicken wings, dont let your eyes be bigger than your belly....wait till youve eaten them before plumping for a min. The staff are used to this and will advise you usually beforehand. |

Forget the facial and pedicure! Be ugly and spend your money on the best night out you'll have in this sort of restaurant in Dublin. Get enough of the great wines into you and you'll think you're Dublins beauty queen anyway! |

Good cafe near Grafton St. Great brunches so good for a Sunday morning or afternoon. Sit outside if you want to people watch. |

Great Indonesian restaurant in Temple Bar but book well in advance to get the table you want it can be quite cosy!! There are set menus that you can choose from but all dishes were great. |

10 of us went to rhodes D7 for a birthday party, this restaurant, unusually is located on the north side of the city, which in my opinion is a welcome change. We were shown to a round table by a very pleasant waitress and left to order. As you can imagine with 10 Girls there was naturally a lot of talking and chatter, especially on a friday night. So were were surprised when the same waitress came up to us and again apologising profusely told us that another table had complained about the noise! Now i dont blame the restaurant, they had to follow through on the complaint, but maybe if they kept the groups and couples seated at opposite ends of the restaurant this could be avoided.
Having said all that the food was beautiful, everyone enjoyed it, we had between us steaks, seabass, chicken and pasta dishes, all very tasty and beautifully presented. The house wine was very nice and reasonably priced. For starters, main course, desserts and some coffees along with about 4 bottles of wine, the bill split 9 ways was just over 50 euros which for me was really good value for money. |

YUM...YUM....YUM...
That really sums up this restaurant for me. Its just..YUM! But in the interests of leaving a rounded review ill go into detail. This restaurant does a brilliant pre-theatre menu for about 25 euros and its WELL worth it. You have a choice of 3 starters, 4 main courses, glass of wine and tea of coffee and its great value!. Mains include duck brest with cranberry sauce, poached salmon, rigatoni and chicken. Starters included pate with melba toast (my favorite!!), Melon, and roasted red peppers. The food is hot, tasty and plentiful, its comfort food, perfect for a cold wet evening. With the main courses you get bowls of veg such as minted peas or mashed carrots and parsnips. You also get loads of piping hot mashed pototoes with plenty of butter.
Honestly this is food for the heart, something to cheer you up after a bad day in work. Try it! |

Try the conveyor belt sushi here - all you can eat in 55 minutes. It's not often you get stuffed by sushi, so here is your chance. Pick what you like from the small plates going by. After being here, my sushi deficit was finally filled. This city just doesn't do it that well, normally.
Here at Aya you have a nice place, friendly efficient staff and a fun hour out. And a beer is included in the 29Euro-55 minute deal too! |

A "great" spot for after work on sunny Fridays. Plenty to choose from both on the wine list and menu. Cornfed chicken with morels and mash was devoured due to starvation from slow service, but that just gave more time to get a lovely glass of Sav Blanc in! Area marred only by yop swilling zombies occassionally. |

Get your vegetarian or vegan meal here! Served by eco-vego people you have the choice of a few main courses and a number of salads every day. You can choose salads as side dish to your main or just have salad. Always tasty alternatives.
Quite hard to get a table sometimes, but it is the kind of place where people share. |

Regardless of whether you're drunk or not, the kebabs in Zaytoon are the business! So tasty. I don't get the shish kebabs mind you - only go for the chicken kebab as they're proper chicken fillet pieces and not meat off an animal in the shape of a triangle! But for less than €10 you'll get yourself a drink, chips and a kebab. Not bad. |

This cafe was just here one day when I walked to work. The deli guy always stand prepared to make you the sandwich you want and your coffee is ready real quick. Made for the take away culture this city has developed and they do it well. |

A little creative hub in the middle of town. Get a coffee here, one of the nice double sandviches and check out what's coming up on Dublin's smaller scenes. The café is in the Market Archade which has a few funky shops.
But why are cafe´s like this closing at 5pm? That's really a joke! |

Nice place, limited enough menu though for a tapas bar. For lunch its a little pricey - chicken skewers are 9 euro. My fav lunch plate is the Havana Special which has a bit of everything - tortilla, breads and humous, meats and salad. This costs about 8 quid. Staff are nice enough, though sometimes when its busy they forget bout ya! |

6 of us went for dinner here on a sat night. Service was excellent, food was very good - starters are about €11 and mains range from €26 to €34 but it is worth it as a special treat. There was a lovely atmosphere with a guy playing a near by piano. If you go here try the cheese plate - excellent. They also do an early bird which is very good value at under €30 for 3 courses. Town is definitely my favourite resaurant in Dublin |

This new restaurant is where Rubicon used to be. It was really buzzing when we arrived. The decor is warm and inviting and the atmosphere is great. There's an extensive wine list with lots of reasonably priced choices. The food was a great Irish & French mix. The duck was melt in the mouth and the thick cut fries were a real hit. Can't recommend this place enough! |

Quite trendy and exotic looking bar right in Dublin 2. Good for a drink and a chat in the afternoon, dance floor and music at night. Kind of posh looking, bigger than you first think... |

This is a great place for Japanese food in Dublin, not cheap but this city isn't. I usually go for the Bento box with a mix of different things, tasty, filling and good value. They have a number of vegetarian options, so that is great. Packed at weekends, but go a bit later and there is no problem to get a table. Nice staff and Japanese beer! |

Great smoothies and kind of small pizzas for lunch. A few tables outside, so nice if the weather permits. They have salads and soup as well. Close early as it obviously is a lunch place. |

Great Indian restaurant in one of Dublins suburbs - Dun Laoghaire. The food is so tasty, really authentic. The staff are more than helpful. Best to get lots of different dishes and share cos theres too many nice things to choose from. |

Great authentic Italian food. Located down in the IFSC area of Dublin, its one of my favourite Italian places. Its very small so you wont always get a table. The pasta is great, as is the lasagne. Simple yet tasty. Staff are lovely too. Cafe style decor and buzzing atmosphere. Reasonably priced. |

This food hall is great to browse around for specialities and ordinary stuff... Get your spices, fruit, pasta sauce and fresh sea food here. Quite pricey, but pleasant. Coffeshop right in the food hall with really nice cakes and 'on the go' atmosphere. |

Ah, a real cafe in Dublin! Not one of those aliminium chair kind of places, but one with couches, mess and great atmosphere. An alternative kind of spirit, good stuff to eat and drink and nice staff. Perfect for a Sunday morning with the Newspaper. They also serve wine and beer, so if you are up for a late night drink on the south side, this is a cool place. Open until dawn at weekends! |

Wonderful eco-type cafe with great atmosphere and friendly service. Great for a break if you're at the market or floating around in Blackrock. The other cafes in the area are less cosy, so this is the perfect relaxed choice. |

At the end of the main street in Dalkey, Castle Street, you can find this cafe in two floors. Good choice for a panini lunch or a coffee and read the newspaper moment. The top floor can be less busy, at least during the week, and is a perfect place to work away on your laptop. Free WiFi. |

Queue out the door on a Saturday afternoon for the scones and fresh bread in this great bakery and cafe. Soup & bread for lunch or coffee and muffins... they have newspapers there so no need to bring. Seats upstairs as well and quite efficient service. |

This is a lovely Korean restaurant that also serves sushi and Chinese food. BBQ in the tables and friendly atmosphere. Books about Korea and community information set up in small bundles on the walls. Very reasonably priced and delicious food. They have both Korean and Chinese beer, and a karaoke room... |

This is not so much a cafe, but a community. It has a fantastic location and is the best cafe in Dublin to sit outside and chew the fat. Niall and Eileen, the owners have created a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Everyone seems to know everyone but without being exclusive. The service is impressive and good solid food. Check out Eileens home made soup. It is particularly delicious |

I was here as part of a group of 10 people. We arrived slightly late for our 9.30pm booking but no table was ready for us. A table was hastiy put together upstairs. We ordered and all was fine until our starters were brough out of the kitchen and there was mass confusion over who ordered what, the staff held up each dish and called out its indian name, we were at a loss as to what each dish was. The starters were by and large cold which was disappointing, once one person sent hers back though! Mains were fine, nothing special. A sore point were the opened bottles of wine which arrived at the table unasked for and then were on the bill. Maybe it was too late on a sat nite to expect a good meal but at €65 a head i would expect more. The Dalkey version of this restaurant is far superior. |

Diep Noodle Bar in Ranelagh is a great spot for a cocktail and a bite to eat. The food while it isnt cheap in the evenings is about the norm of a thai restaurant in Dublin but the atmosphere is lovely. Book for an evening meal as this place gets packed out very quickly. |

I was pleasantly surprised by the prices in this relatively new restaurant, which were lower than Brussels prices for food of a similar quality. The chicken wings starter were absolutely fabulous and the crab cakes too were lovely. Main courses are competent and change on a seasonal basis, but surely we should not be expected to understand some of the more la-de-la jargon chefs and food critics tend to come up with. Would you know that "vegetable nage" basically means vegetables sitting in a broth, for example? Neither did two of my companions and they got a dish they really weren't quite expecting. Clearer menus please! |
|

Overpriced and overhyped. No sign of the celebrity chef either! The bar is nice (whilst waiting for your table). Won't be in any hurry to go back. If i wanted to spend this money again I would go to one of my favourites Shanahans on the Green where at least you get very well fed with delicious food or even for better value I'd go to Peploes on the Green. |

Hiden away in the unfasionable stoneybatter area of Dublin is this real gem of a resturant. Excellent food, cosy atmosphere and freindly service combine to make this a real treat. I highly recommend the Chicken Passanda for those with a sweet tooth and new to Indian cuisine! |

I went here on Friday night having heard some good reports on the place. Unfortunately mine wasn't as glowing! While the food was lovely, delicious (very large) prawns a la plancha for mains the service wasn't the best at all. We arrived on time to be told our table would be a few minutes only to eventually get to the table about 40 minutes later. When we eventually got to our table the place cleared out so we were the only table there, which was slightly uncomfortable. Being the only table you would think they service would be impeccable but unfortunately not, we had to wait quite a while for our food. Maybe the wine bar downstairs (with a piano and live music) would be a better option if i was brave enough to go again. |

South Bar and Restaurant is located in Sandyford Business Park and is a sister restaurant of Town Bar and Grill on Kildare St in the centre of Dublin. We visited for lunch, the ambience was great - relaxed yet efficient service and lovely food with fresh ingredients. I have heard that the restuarant even have a car to bring people home after their night out if needed! Will definately return. |

Odessa seems from the outside like it wants to be a fancy posh place, but inside the retro interior gives another message. The service is good, but the food does not live up to price or style of the restaurant. |

Great atmosphere. Italian. Gliterati hangout.
The do a buffet at lunchtime which is popular.
Ideal place for a long lunch and several bottles of wine. Booking will be necessary ... especially Friday. |

Wonderful hidden gem on a backstreet in the south of Dublin. Cafe with both lovely cakes and food, loads of different teas. The walls are decorated with original photo art and the place hosts wine tasting evenings once in a while. They're open until 8pm on weekdays, so great for lunch or early dinner. In the summer you can sit outside in the patio. |

I heard lots of people talking about this restaurant and they all said it was a good place to go for paella. We couldn't make a reservation for the Saturday night as they were full so we were told to just turn up. When we did there was a queue of people outside. Always a good sign! The queue moved very quickly and we were brought to our table. The menu is varied and includes lot of meat and fish choices as well as paella. The starter of mussels in marinera sauce was excellent and is definitely enough for 2 people. I went for the mixed fish and meat paella which was also very good. This restaurant opened in 1836 and the building is a national monument. With its black and white tiled floor and piano playing in the background it is a nice place to enjoy Cataln food in an intimate setting. My one small gripe was that I found the service quite slow but other than that highly recommended. |

Hmmm ... celeb chef. Room is large and bereft of any atmosphere. Food arrived cold, so two people had finished before the others got their mains back.
We skipped desert in favour of going elsewhere.
It wasn't open that long, and perhaps the service will improve over time, but bottom line .. the room is like sitting in a staff canteen .. and that ain't gonna change! |

Undertrained staff, and very poor quality food for the expensive prices. A starter of 2 quartered pitta breads, a bit of pesto, some stale humuous and some unidentified red sauce for 8.99 euro? Gimme a break! Main course of seared salmon with a pesto sauce and mussels? Pass the sick bucket! (My friend was unwise and unfortunate enough to order this bizarre concoction.) |

Nice mexican restaurant on George's St in the centre of Dublin. The atmosphere and service was good, even though we had to give the table back by 9.30 there was no rushing you off a table which was great! The quesadila's were good and so were the fajitas, although they could have done with the bit more meat on them! Recommended cheap and cheerful! |

Love Independent Pizza.... Definately my favorite spot in Dublin for cheap eats!!! They do the nicest pizza ever! Try the peking duck one, with hoi sin sauce instead of tomato sauce for the base. I would also recommend the chicken and bacon cobb salad.
The atmosphere is great and best of all its dirt cheap! Be warned though, its hard to get a table here any night of the week. |

If you like Chinese food, you'll like Wongs. The one in Ranelagh is a bit of an institution. Not a place for a romantic dinner for two, but great for a group. Big round tables and great for sharing. |

Good addition to Ranelagh restaurant scene. Buzzy atmosphere and good food. Staff a little disorganised when you arrive, they couldn't find my table for a while. Had crab for starter and lamb shanks for mains, both of which were excellent. Good choice of wines too. |

This buzzy cellar restaurant is perfect for dining out in a group - the atmosphere is super, the waiters friendly and the food very good. Book for a late lunch, location is great at the top of Stephens Green, very near the Shelbourne hotel. |

Fagans is a pub, not a restaurant, but i included it in this catagory because they really do exceptional bar food. Their evening menu is extensive, and usually has 4 fish options, at least 4 red meat dishes, as well as curry, stir frys, pasta and snack food such as steak sandwiches or chicken and chips. Everything is cooked fresh and is extremely tasty.
I recommend the seabass or the Chicken/Beef/Veggy stirfry, you get at least 10 different types of vegetable and everything cooked perfectly.
The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are really good. You can sit and have dinner and then relax with a drink afterwards, and its a great place to go if you want a good meal but dont fancy getting dressed up!
You might even catch sight of our very own prime minister in having a pint! |

La Mere Zou do an early bird menu from Mon-Sat from 6-7 and Sunday all night, €26.50 for 3 courses. This means you can treat yourself to some of their fantastic French food at a fraction of the price.
The menu is decidedly French, featuring dishes like trout rillette, Pork and apricot terrine, tarte tatin and creme brulee. The flavours are amazing and you get just enough food in each portion.
However what won my heart was the baileys and cranberry creme brulee, definately one of the best desserts i have eaten in a long time. The staff are good and the atmosphere relaxed. |

FXB are a chain of restaurants with 4 locations currently in Dublin. We visited the restaurant located right in the middle of temple bar and very handy if you are planning a night out in town. The menu is pretty concise, FXB's is a steakhouse and this mainly whats on offer, steak cooked whatever way you like it with whatever you like on the side. They also do a couple of fish dishes for those who dont want red meat.
The steaks are good! tasty and perfectly cooked. The staff are also really friendly and the wine is quite reasonably priced. |

Nice indian restaurant centrally located on South William St. I had been meaning to try this place for a while. It was quiet when I was here over Christmas but I was impressed. It's comfortable, reasonably priced and the service was good. It's much better than Maloti across the road. I'll definitely go back. |

Kites in Ballsbridge is a chinese restaurant, ideal for group dining. The menu is really varied and the food lovely. The nicest thing about this restaurant is the staff, so friendly and the level of service is excellent. Try the Yuk Sung as a starter. They usually give customers a drink on the house which is a nice touch. |
