Town is definitely my favourite resaurant in Dublinclose

As we were there for 6.30 we were able to avail of the pre-theatre menu (which we had to ask for incidentally) which gives you 3 courses for €29, and considering that some of the main courses were €27 and €28 we felt like we couldn't not go for it. Its situated in government headquarters Kildare St and downstairs from Mitchells Wine Merchants. Its very atmospheric with bright walls and comfy seating in a cave like surroundings. The waitress that looked after the wine was more than helpful with what wines to go for whern I told her what I was after and pouring many tipples of the different regional wines. The only thing I would say about the wine menu was that it was divided by region and to the un trained wine drinker (me) it wasn't helpful at all in making a decision. Yummy bread with a delicious olive oil was brought out before the starters. We had tomotato and mozzeralla salad and anti-pasti plate which was the nicest I had anywhere. We both unadventuresly went for the same main, chicken with yummy roti poatato, creamed corn, roasted red onion and green beans. While it was a little on the large size portion wise (never a bad complaint) it was mouth wateringly good. The deserts were tiramisu and rhubarb crumble which gave my own home made one a good run for its money. 2 espressos and 4 glasses of wine brought the entire bill to a very acceptable €96. We will definitely be back.close
