“ really did not like this place. drinks spilled on the dancefloor and glasses breaking the whole time. very crowded and messy.not popular musice either. some seemed to be enjoying it if thats your kind of thing but i would not recommened it. ”

“ Whelans is one of the legend bars in Dublin. It's an authentic Irish bar, with a live venue out the back. Many Irish stars started their music careers here. It's got a great vibe at weekends. During the week it's not as packed but still great place for a pint. It attracts a huge mix of people. ”

To get in for free get there before 11 (I think), you can drink away in the front bar and listen to some great music, when the gig that is on in the back is finished you can head in there to let... more ”

Famous for great live music they serve a niche often overlooked. theres usually a small cover charge, depending on the band and its a great place to showcase new Irish talent.
