After we tried about three Hostels before in Cork, Kinlay House was by far the best of the accommodations. The staff was very friendly and the rooms provided a lot of space and a warm atmosphere. The hostel was also very clean and tidy and in addition there was a free light breakfast. Thank you...

If you just follow the instructions given on the website the hostel is easy to be found, you can actually see "the fish" on top of the church tower from the bus station :D The staff was really nice and helpful and the free breakfast was a nice extra :) Only problem was that it could get... more

Our door to the room was sort of finicky and would not close all the way unless strongly forced. That meant that roommates who didn't pay much attention were leaving the door open when they left, jeopardizing our security.

It was absolutely freezing (about +12) in our 'Deluxe room'. The heater was only slightly warm at the evening and was turned off for the night. The window was poorly insulated and you could feel the cold air coming through the gaps. So we would recommend this place for polar bears only!

Don't bother looking for the landmark fish at night because you won't find it. Once you get to the hostel, though, it's alright.

I traveled throughout out Europe and stayed in many hostels and I would recommend this hostel to any traveler headed to...

Great place if all you need is a bed. Layout is not very conducive to meeting people. Breakfast is severely lacking. Very expensive laundry and towel rental. Promised a free shuttle to Blarney but had to really hassle them to get even a one-way trip. Less than impressed overall.

Loved the location, right next to a church where you can play your own tune on the bells! Hostel was clean but my shower in my en-suite on top floor was ice cold, had to run naked to showers on 2nd floor where was warm thankfully. Good choice for Cork! Pls remember kitchen closes at 930am-not so...

Really nice atmosphere, although a tad tricky to find. It would be nice if the television room and dining area were heated not just the rooms. But in all a quiet yet pleasant stay.

Bathrooms on the 2nd floor could have been a little cleaner and the water in the showers was warm at best, never hot. Internet is rather pricey; 1 euro for 15 minutes is a clear steal!!! Overall a good hostel though, nice spacious rooms.

It was pretty dead when we were there, we saw 2 other people. The showers were freezing cold and did not get warm. We picked this hostel b/c it had a bus to Blarney included. They ended up not doing it...

Nice place to stay, but staff was poor on knowing good places for eating and things to go do. Saved money with the tea/coffee/toast for breakfast which was really nice. An ok place to stay, would probably want to stay somewhere else next time.

Great Hostel, would definatly stay in it again. Only problem was we booked a 10 bed dorm, however apparently only 8 people were selected so we got an 8 man dorm... this was confusing, annoying and ment two people had to share beds.

Overall, a very nice hostel. Unfortunately we were not impressed with one of the staff members who checked us in and out. He seemed very reluctant to give us advice or help us find our bearings. Other than that, the room was very clean and inviting.
