Copenhagen guide
Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, has a myriad of attractions to suit all ages and tastes. The city can boast the longest pedestrian shopping avenue in Europe, Strøget. A shopper’s paradise, it is packed with designer boutiques and trendy eateries. After some retail therapy, pay a visit to Tivoli Gardens, the inner-city pleasure park that offers one of the oldest wooden roller-coasters in existence, aswell as the tallest carousel in the world. The harbour area of the city is great for a morning stroll after partying the night away in the various pubs and clubs. Here resides the statue of the Little Mermaid, inspired by famous children’s author and Denmark native Hans Christian Anderson. Her iconic form and ambiguous gaze draw almost 1 million visitors every year. Copenhagen has is it all; it is a city steeped in culture and tradition, yet has a fresh, contemporary vibe.

Sure, it's a little expensive but it's a Scandinavian country so I was expecting things to cost that bit extra. It's still possible to keep the cost down, which I tried to do by looking out for free days at the attractions and buffet offers at some of the restaurants. There are lots of things to see, from the almost obligatory Little Mermaid statue to the Christiania commune to the Carlsberg Brewery in the Vesterbro area of the city. There are a lot of places to shop around the city and the nightlife is pretty varied too. Autumn was a pretty good time to go I thought, as the place wasn't teeming with people but the weather was still really nice. Altogether, it was well worth the trip.close

Food is hard to get for cheap, alcohol is also expensive and as for sightseeing, there is only so much and it all again adds up. I do reccommend going and doing a day trip especially to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art however budget a good amount of money.close

2Surprising very modern and clean (new carpet) and the reception rang me to give me the pin for the front door as i was arriving after they closed. We had a quad bed room which had a mini balcony. It was nice and close to everything. I was surprised with the quality and totally recommend this place!

The food in Riz Raz is not new, it has drawn on the traditions from the old times using a range of spices and ingredients, which are known, but not used in English cooking.

The National Museet100%
What?
MuseumWhere?
Located in the center of CopenhagenAnything Else?
This is Denmark's largest museum of cultural history. The museum's main building is a classical 18th century mansion just a stone's throw from "Strøget" at the center of Copenhagen. This is the place to follow the history of the Danes.
I have to say I love museums like this. Lots of the artefacts were quite unusual, right down to the fuzzy, animal hide underwear that's part of the huge Eskimo collection. You'll see weapons, clothes and jewellery on display too, and a visit to this museum is a great way to learn a little bit more about the people of Denmark down through the ages.
