Europäischer Hof Köln is located in the very heart of Cologne in a quiet corner of the city within walking distance of the main train station. The metro stations are about 50 yards from our door. We are a short distance from the famous cathedral and other tourist attractions. Cologne University is not far away as well as the Latin Quarter where all the student pubs and restaurants are bustling with life. Here you will find all sorts of International cuisine such as Italian, Greek, Persian and Turkish. You can also try the local beer called 'Kölsch', which is a tasty, mild stout. There are many special events not to be missed in Cologne including the Xmas markets and international trade fairs. Our city is the home of many TV and film companies located at the famous Mediapark-Köln. All rooms are equipped with shower/toilet, direct dial telephone and a radio-alarm clock. Except for our single rooms with shared bathroom, all rooms have a colour TV with about 30 channels including CNN, NBC and BBC. There are several places nearby where you can hire bicycles. A private car park is available 100 yards down the street. A Bureau de Change is situated inside the main train station, just a short walk from us. All rates include taxes and breakfast. We have received excellent reviews from previous guests.

Good location, but you get what you pay for in terms of niceness. Overall value for what it was.

Stay here if you want privacy and a good nights sleep. Don't stay here if you want to meet fellow travellers as it is a hotel. Good location, good breakfast. The one bad point was that the room smelled of stale smoke.

Location was good and hotel suited purpose. Might have been nicer if the ash trays in the rooms had been emptied. Otherwise happy with stay!

Very centrally located this an ideal place to stay as it within walking distance of the bars, cathedral, river and train station in cologne. The hotel has a lot of character and the staff were very helpful.

I really enjoyed the breakfast in a buffet style. Variety of food, delicious bread (I live in the UK, so it's difficult to find tasty bread). The stuff alwyas ready to help. I'd recommend the hotel to everyone.

This was a very pleasant place to stay and was within walking distance to absolutely everything in the city. The staff were super friendly and spoke English well, and the breakfasts were very satisfying. The rooms are small but neat, and its a perfect place for the traveller on a budget.

I liked the frontage very much. It must be one of the very few pre World War II buildings still standing with Jugendstil decorative elements OUTSIDE. The inside is totally renovated somewhere in the 60-ties.

The location is excellent, in the centre of the old town and with great transport links to the student quarter and the lively bars & restaurants around the ring road. The breakfast is very good. Staff are very friendly. Cologne is great for a weekend break. Kolsch beer is a must!

They tried to charge me double the tariff advertised for this hotel on hostelworld.com. Their English was very poor. The unit was large and comfortable though.

We were disappointed to find that we couldn't pay by credit card although the site said that we could (and card stickers were on the windows). This caused some inconvienience. On the other hand we thought the breakfast food and choice were very good for this price range.

This hotel is a great deal. Singles are quite small but comfortable and quiet, and the breakfast was free and very nice. If you want a break from hostels, stay here.

Nice, central location, close to the world famous Cathedral; lots of bells in the mornings! Breakfasts are terrific; good German hospitality. Very friendly. We would recommend this place to anyone who wants somewhere a little different.
