Its well worth da visit and furthermore close to other interesting places like Aachen, Dusseldorf or Frankfurt/Main.close

Cologne is also right on the Rhine, so for anyone with a Eurail pass - seriously consider the KD Boat along the Rhine (free with Eurail pass) the best section s probably Koblenz to Mainz but boats leave from Cologne and it is a great day especially if the weather is nice. We had a great time in Cologne, and if you have time to take a walk around the city there is plenty to see. The Rathaus (Town Hall) has some great ruins you can view from above in the courtyard in front, but there is plenty else to see as well.close

There wasn't much to do if you didn't have a lot of money (otherwise shop! and some interesting looking museums). It is a dirty city too, again especially by german standards, it looked like the bad parts of Liverpool (this from a scouser)! The river wasn't pleasant to sit or walk by either.close

Radisson SAS Hotel Cologne 100%
The price rank is hard to give, because we stayed here cheap through a package deal. Otherwise, this hotel is expensive. Apart from that, service is top notch and the overall design of the hotel (lounge, restaurant, bar, wellness area and room) was superb.

The building was hard to find for us, because we drove ourselves, and you cannot drive on the road that the address is on. The building is located amongst other older, beautiful buildings. You walk out the front door, the Rhine river is directly in front of you. You have access to the river...

Location was the best part: right in the middle of the pedestrian zone - very close to the Dom as well (less than 5 min. walk). Delicious German breakfast included in the price - very cheap rooms through this agency.

Cologne Zoo80%
This fascinating zoological park sits at the north end of the Rheinpark and houses more than 5,000 animals of various species. Check out the ape cages and the aquarium that borders the zoo. A great way to spend an afternoon or weekend day. Some told me that this zoo is considered by many to be one of the best zoos in Germany.
