A very unpretentious city, we received many returned smiles. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere in Plaza de Armas. We were, however, very unpleased with the Suzcia Ave. area of bars and restaurants, very pushy, poor value and poor food quality. We would definetly reccomend people stay away from that hokey tourist trap. The side street of J.V. Lastarria, however, is most certainly worth a visit. Lots of quality cafes and restobars with fantastic food and quiet, friendly vibes. Go to Cafe Patagonia for a delicious, hippy style, bowl of friut and organic granola served in honey and yogurt or for there beautiful brunch buffet on weekends. Yum! We have been told to stay away from Santiago for it´s lack of culture, vibe or whatever, but after being in Chile and Argentina for the past 3 months our advice is to go and soak up the friendliness of the people and the hidden gems of colonial architecture in it´s side streets. Lots of peculiar photo opportunities for photo-heads. Enjoy.close

My purpose in Santiago wasn't tourism so I don't really have an opinion on most topics. In November, the weather is warm. You will only need a light jacket in the evenings. I thought Santiago would be a big, polluted Westernised city with no heart or soul... how wrong I was! Ok, so there is alot of smog, but you hardly notice it for all of the stunning vistas and beautiful, colonial buildings. Ok, so there is alot of smog, but you hardly notice it for all of the stunning vistas and beautiful, colonial buildings. You will not believe how close the snow-capped mountains are or how clean and efficient the underground rail system is. Santiago is expensive compared to other major South-American cities. But this with good reason - the people have put in the effort to make it a world-standard city. A wonderful suprise!close

It's too expensive if you consider, that there is roomservice only every three days! If you want to have your room cleaned every day, you have to pay extra. Good breakfast and helpfull staff.

A great hostel, they party hard on the weekend, but are respectful the rest of the time. Both guys, Carlito and Seb are cracking and will work hard to make your stay worthwhile. A real, "my house" feeling. Great propert, cool dog and great DVD collection!

It was a very nice stay! Very comfortable beds and real hot shower! The guests are very gentle too. The location is not the best, but just in front of it there´s a subway (which is a great transportation option at Santiago).

Durant the time I was there, I had something stolen "inside my room", and the staff didn´t help or even try to help me. I´ve lost 200.000 pesos, one notebook and some documents. I really dint recomend this hotel because It´s possible that the same thing happen again e The staff would help you.

A nice cheap option for your own room with en-suite. However its not a great place to meet backpackers and is quite a way from good restaurants and bars. Room was nice and comfortable though and the staff were helpful but only spoke limited english.
