The front desk guy was unhelpful and unkind. He let us take stairs with luggage to 2 floor and they have a lift there. Bit of a walk from the train. Bathrooms were far away from our room. Otherwise it is not so bad hostel in a great location.

I had a room on the B level. It was unbelievably cold there and moreover something wrong was with the window cause I could not close it.

How hard is it to buy some old lockers? hostels around the world have them why can't this place?close

Far away from all of main tourist attractions but close to college bars. The room felt like a furnished prison cell and there was never enough space to sit down and eat. HI is more expensive but definitely worth it.

didn't have toilet paper both nights we stayed (and we stayed in different rooms both nights!), sheets weren't made, hair everywhere (might want to consider firing that cleaning lady!). we didn't expect a 4-star-hotel service but this hostel could have tried harder when we got there to check in!!

Security was very poor - anyone can walk into the building and room door locks a bit dodgy. We had to change rooms three times - one broken lock, one leaking ceiling and one smelly cupboard sized room. In the female toilets, one toilet didn't have a door, none had locks on the doors and one didn't have a seat. I would only stay here again if there were NO other options.close

Arlington House was just the perfect place for my stay in Chicago: affordable, very well located, super clean, quiet, fun, with welcoming people. I'll return there during my next trip!

Strange that there are soap dispensers and papertowel dispensers in the bathroom, but they were all empty when we were there twice, three weeks apart. A regularly replaced dishtowel in the kitchen might help to have more people doing their dishes, and setting the things away.

No Air Conditioning in the summer. No hot water in the shower in my room. I would have been as happy just walking the streets for 3 nights.

It was a cheap place to stay, but VERY VERY hot. There's no parking, so plan on spending 30 minutes or more looking for a spot if you're driving. All the streets around have a no parking rule from 6p-12a and we had to take our car during those hours. Ok hostel, but wouldn't stay again.

Only go here if you really need a place to crash. And I wouldn't recommend going here more than 1 night. Place is close to bars + clubs although a little out of the main area. OK for value, but be cautious to sleep on your wallet as there is no safe anywhere

Hostel was nice, but could use a bit of cleaning up. Up to twenty people in a single room, although this wasn't a problem for us since it was rather quiet. Although it is a little out of the center, the metro takes you to downtown Chicago in notime and is close by. Also there are restaurants...

Arlington House is exactly the place to arrive if you want a cheap but also good place- the beds were really bad in some rooms and in our bath there was almost no warm water. but for the price I do think you get what you expect-

The stay was pathetic... apart from being in a good location there are no advantages to living at Arlington House. The toilets are disgusting and so are the showers. I had a personal room and my toilet was still dirty! I would not stay there ever again.

The best option if you go to Chicago, is placed close to a very funny area with pubs and restaurants, so you can go out at night, and is conected to the downtown by metro. The rooms are good, and the bathrooms are reformated.

Clean hostel in a very nice neighbourhood. Very safe and rich area of the city, 20 mins on bus/subway to downtown and under an hour on the subway from both airports. Rooms fairly small and only one bathroom on each floor. Never a queue for bathroom, but a long walk depending on where your room is...
