The hostel was very clean. They only have two showers in each floor, and one of the showers was out of service. We booked for a 6 dorm, and we end up sleeping in a two dorm in one night, then with 7 people on the second night, and then again in a two beds room. So, they moved us every night. The owner was nice and the staff was Okay.close

It's clean enough, and totally fine. I'd stay there again - it's one of the cheapest places you'll find in Chicago, and reasonably close to the downtown hub. But the management are people who run a greek restaurant and have a hostel on the side, and it's run that way.

the main guy is pretty gruff and not friendly at all - it shows. a younger staff was very nice and quite helpful in getting me a replacement light bulb for my night stand. I'd stay here again - although, like all of Chicago, the prices are very steep. Thanks.

The place is okay, but don't be sacared when you get there and find out that you are facing a Greek Restaurant. The hostel is just besides, but the staff stays at the restaurant. The rooms are great, but the toilets are very bad......

Might be a good idea to mention on the web page that the hostel operates together with the Parthenon Restaurant - the only name you see when you visit the address!

Great location only a few blocks from the edge of downtown Chicago. Great access to public transportation. A little over priced for a not so clean room. Blankets still had evidence of last person in the room in the form of pubic hairs, but the sheets were clean.

I enjoyed my stay and thought the staff were pleasant. Just a thought - more showers may be a better use of space than the washrooms. At the moment although there are two showers in each bathroom, only one can be used at a time unless you are VERY good friends! Great location though and was happy...

If there were facilities for making tea/coffee I was not told and never found them. I was not told where to go if I had a problem. That said, I was welcomed in a pleasant manner and as I was very early was offered a cuppa whilst waiting for my room to be prepared.

We were very satisfied with our stay at this hostel. We enjoyed the easy access to downtown Chicago, and the feeling of security and safety that the hostel provided. Our only complaint is that our room was suppose to include air conditioning, but only came with a fan.

The hostel is quite expensive considering it's so basic. I think it would more than benefit from a small kitchen, all that is needed is a fridge and a microwave. Also one toilet and one shower room for an entire floor isn't enough in my opinion.
