I really liked my little room at Parami, there's a fish pond with stepping stones that I liked. It's in a good position, a little out of the main city on the east side of the river, about a 20min walk to the main traveller area. Some good bars and riverside restaurants nearby. Location is subjective, but I preferred it on the Mae Ping River bank, still only 5min walk to bars and restaurants and 10mins to first of many markets, As for fun, I was out most of the time, but it doesn't have a huge noisy social scene if that's what you want.
