Except for the location, this was great. We were able to walk (an hour) to the center of town rather than take a taxi. The owner/manager had great recommendations for us for food and places to visit.

After hearing that hostels/hotels inside of the main gate were a bit touristy, we decided to book with Banilah (which is a 5 min tuktuk from the city walls, and a 3 min tuktuk from an incredibly charming shopping/restaurant street to the northeast). After hostel-hopping across 20 countries, I can... more

A little out of the old town, but the staff and the resident Tuk Tuk driver more than make up for it. Our only problem was the hot water wasn't working, but other than that we had a enjoyable stay, and with how much you pay (very cheap) it was mostly great.
