The 1st thing I'd recommend on these holidays ... be it in Chamonix or anywhere else ... is to get accomadation in town. It's worth it for the nights out. Arranging transport or finding a taxi can be tricky, and you want to be able to experience the apres ski! There are an abundance of pistes in Chamonix that should suit all levels of snowboarders and skiiers. Plus there is a cable car to the top of Mt Blanc which is spectacular. As this was my first trip snowboarding and I didn't get any lesson in favour of picking it up on my own I didn't really get the most out of the pistes. I would definately like to go back and explore the runs a bit more. Highly recommended resort.close

It has become a major tourist destination over the years, but is still a must-see location for anyone who appreicates legendary mountains and the history they possess.close

Top Rated Chamonix Places to Stay

  1. Hotel du Bois 88%

They told us we could use the facilities all day long the day of our depart. Then, we returned in the afternoon to enjoy the ambiance. The big boss arrived and I heard she was mocking at us simply because we returned. I didn't like this situation.

  2. Chalet Les Frênes 81%

I definitely recommend this Chalet. The owner, Phil, is super accomodating, funny, and knowledgable about Chamonix. The Chalet is a little outside of town, but it's really no problem with Phil's help and the bus. I would love to go back!
