But the city isn't that cheap. If you book with Wang Fat hostel, only use the Metro, and eat cheap (it's the delightful and overpriced food that really kills you) you'll be okay but HK is a city to watch your wallet in - not for theft but definate overspending!close

Lots of beauty or cosmetics shops in HK, but better buy from big department stores to be assured that the product is genuine.close

Hong Kong Hostel is located in the heart of Causeway Bay where shopping is always a pleasure. The place is accessable to public transport: buses, trains, taxis and trams. It's a few minutes walk from the airport bus stop. It is a good place for backpackers or budgetted travellers. We only had two days and very little money in HK which limited us a bit as shopping was out and thats the major pastime. We went up to The Peak which is a fab experience, wandered aroundhte amazingly peaceful central park and spent a happy few hours partying in Soho I'd definitely go...more We only had two days and very little money in HK which limited us a bit as shopping was out and thats the major pastime. We went up to The Peak which is a fab experience, wandered aroundhte amazingly peaceful central park and spent a happy few hours partying in Soho I'd definitely go back and even though it's no way near as expensive as Singapore, Oslo and London you still need a decent amount of cash to enjoy your stayclose

I have been living in Hong Kong for five months, because I was on exchange here. I never thought I would like the place this much and feel so bad about goin home. I have never been to a place that is so exciting as Hong Kong. I liked Hong Kong. Lots of different ethnic people from around the world, English is one of the main languages, efficient subway systems, good food, lots of activities to do and lots of restaurants. A good place to shop as well. It reminds me of Manhattan, New York, except...more I liked Hong Kong.
