Staff good, breakfast was very good, 30 mins walk to city centre, lots of traffic noise, cold showers.

Very good hostel thanks to comfortable beds, the staff and massive breakfast. Location is a bit of a letdown.

Really impressed by this hostel - great breakfast, helpful friendly staff, ensuite rooms, comfortable beds, overall cleaniness. Being a long way out of town on a bus route that runs irregularly is the only letdown.

NOWHERE ON THE ONLINE FORM FROM HOSTELWORLD.COM DID IT SAY THAT THIS HOSTEL CLOSED AT 11:00 PM!!!!!!!!!!! I turned up at the door to find it unstaffed and locked. The hostel is in the middle of nowehere and I had no money for another cab ride. It was a nightmare. I slept outside the hostel in the freezing cold. I rang the doorbell and tried the "emergency door" which was also locked. This is completely unacceptable. If you're going to lock the doors TELL PEOPLE ABOUT IT ON THE REGISTRATION FORM. I have nothing but bad things to say about this hostel. Stay at the backpacker's hostel in Cardiff if you ever go!!!! THEY make it clear when they lock THEIR doors. Outrageous.close

The fun side doesn't interest me. I wanted safe, convenient, and quiet and I was over the moon happy. Car parking was excellent as well plus the included breakfast. Service is brilliant, I feel like they are interested in helping you.

This hostel was so far from anything interesting in Cardiff. You had to take a 20 minute bus ride as it was 2 miles in the residental area and in the evening the bus only ran once an hour....not good for backpackers having to take cabs home. You had to take a 20 minute bus ride as it was 2 miles in the residental area and in the evening the bus only ran once an hour....not good for backpackers having to take cabs home. I would not recommend going there. There were only about 6 people staying at the YHA. It was so small and dark that I managed to crash my head into a bed after staff had gone home at 11 pm. There wasn't anyone to be found in the hostel....even in the rooms. I found that kind of dangerous and not a very welcoming place. I managed to find a beer in the fridge for my massive bump. I changed my mind and cancelled a second night in Cardiff. Stay there if you want peace and quiet though...;it just wasn't what I was after. And now I look like a unicorn!close

Breakfast was awesome, but some of the people in the room weren't. It had a slightly older crowd than expected, who weren't happy with us having a few drinks whilst getting ready in the dorm room...

My friend and I stayed in the 14 bed dorm and even though this was well layed out, we were a little disappointed with the rudeness of some of the other dorm-mates (who were a extremely inconciderate when coming in late). Staff were always friendly and helpful. It was very nice of the staff to upgrade our room without extra costs because there were rooms available. However, the location was really not that great.

We stayed in this hostel after a big Rugby match. I was very impressed with everything about the hostel, including the nice showers and the breakfast which was included in the price. It's the second time I've stayed here and I dare say I'll probably stay again next time my team comes to Cardiff.

Bit far out of town, but the rooms were good. The breakfast was brilliant. The staff were friendly and very hard-working and helpful.

The other travellers that I met from other parts of the world was brilliant, a great way to interact and get to know other people. The hostel was relatively clean, comfortable beds, facilities were good, nice hot showers!! However I felt that the staff at the hostel could have been a little more friendly. I was made to feel like a nuisance when I checked in, which was not what I expected at all. I had expected that the staff would be happy to welcome people from all over the world & be enthusiastic about it. As far as location is concerned, it was quite a distance from the city centre of Cardiff. For other travellers that are looking for a hostel that is close to the action of Cardiff and has a bar. I would strongly suggest that you consider finding accomodation elsewhere. All in all I did thoroughly enjoy my short but sweet time in the capitial city of Wales.close
