We arrived into Cape Town on a bright, clear, sunny day and were advised by the receptionist because it was winter to take advantage of this and go up the cable car. The cable car is about a 10 minute taxi ride from the botanical gardens and as you climb higher start to see nice views of the city... more We arrived into Cape Town on a bright, clear, sunny day and were advised by the receptionist because it was winter to take advantage of this and go up the cable car. The cable car is about a 10 minute taxi ride from the botanical gardens and as you climb higher start to see nice views of the city below. The cable car journey didnt seem to take longer than 10 minutes and the ground roatates internally as you ascend which gives you spectacular 360 degree panoramic views of the city. Once on top you get to walk around and this can take up to 3 hours. the views are amazing of Cape point and its so quiet and peaceful. There are good facilities including restaurant and toilets on top. The price per person is 120 Randclose

The most visited attraction in Cape Town and I can see why, it is amazing. You can buy tickets from any tourist office or accommodation provider. On a clear day a cable car goes to the top of the mountain for some spectacular views. Breathtaking views of the city, warm, easy to walk around and it has the cutest wildlife up there that are very used to human contact. Cable car up and back also adds to the experience.
