Cape Town is a fantastic city with loads to do and see. And depsite what a lot of people think, it is safe. As long as you have sense (but that's needed in every city when visiting). The V&A Waterfront is the place for seafood restaurants and great shopping. Camps Bay is where the wealthy frequent and there's a nice beach and bay here. Table Mountain and Robben Island are the two top sights.. |

Location of this town is like no other. The sights were amazing and possibilities for excursions endless. The town itself however, lacks in character. Waterfront is just a comercial moneymaking blob of restaurants and shops.
Long street is worth it and has character. There is a nice market on Market street if you are interested in african craft, and every sunday there is a huge market around the greenpoint.
The town has no beach. |

City is very mixed. Nice character in spots. Heaps of outdoor activites to do, hike, surf, abseil, mountain bike, dive etc. Food is really great. One of the better place to eat in the world. Shopping was not so great. it is not a shopping mecca. Good nightlfe. You reallly need a car to explore this amazing city and its even more amazing surrounds. |

Cape Town is more expensive than other places in SA.
You will need a car to get about Cape Town.
Loads to do, although difficult to find where all the parties are.
Must Dos: Robben Island, V & A, Table Mountain, Cape Point and Winelands. |

C.T was a great city, nice buildings, good shops and is much more relaxed than Jo'burg. Table mountain is spectacular. |

It was honestly fantastic! My husband (who's from the UK) and I absolutely loved it. It had a great vibe, good facilities and was in walking distance to the V&A Waterfrong and heaps of restuarants.
We really had a great time and will be going there again. |

Out of my expectation, Cape Town tourism has done a great job. There are plenty of detail maps available at any tourist center in CPT. However, I only need them half of the time since the road signs are so nice and clear wherever I go. It's such a tourist friendly city.
I totally fall in love with CPT with all its beautiful views. I fall more in love more with people I encountered at all the tourist places I went. After a week back from there, I still miss those good people. |

What a great way to relax after a full on Safari adventure- great food, wines and after dark watering holes. |

South Africa offers a great scenerie, great clima, good wine, good food and a lot of nice people. SA is very prepared for tourisme, getting around is very easy. BOK Bus Garden Route was great.
Especially thanks to the fantastic tour guide Hans. For a day tour to the wine farms I recommand Daytripper. Baz Bus for Cape Point-Day Tour is not recommandable. |

Wonderful city with a host of attractions. Scenery is all around you, History is all around you, could not fault the entertainment - V & A Waterfront, brash, modern, and vibrant. Plent of tours - Table Mtn & Cape of Good Hope tours, Botanical Gardens at Kirstenbosch stunning value. |

cape town has it all but local people are starting to charge heaven and earth for a place to stay and it is kill the traveling off for young backpackers who are on a budget. |

As a city Cape Town is up there with the best. A truly beautiful combo' of sea and mountain. Hard to beat.
Only down side is the car hire. Could not find one with good insurance cover. Quite a risky business to hire a car! Even the best insurance options don't cover accidents on dirt road, & attempted theft. |

There are so many things to do here, between Cape Point, Table Mountain, Shark Cage Diving, Wine Tasting, Museums, Shopping & generally seeing the city & surrounding area. Leave the chilling out to somewhere else! My best advice is to do as much as you can afford to here. |

One of the best cities of the world, and so much to offer you just can't have enough of fun. |

i found cape town daunting at first as it was the first step in my journey around the world, but i could not have asked for a better place, there is something for everyone if you like to do activities there is shark diving if you like to drink there are endless bars and clubs and also the wine tours, if you like to take great pictures table mountain is the place to be, plus marvelous people!! |

Cape town is a lovely place to start your travels. its got a great infrastructure for travellers and the hostels help arranging most trips and transport. The site here are fantastic and at a cheap cost. ive only stayed for 4 days and would love to have longer in order to fully appreciate all aspects of cape town. cape town is a must for anyone going to south africa |

Disapointed by Camps Bay, because it doesn't represent South Africa. Lot of money, beautifull houses like in Beverly Hills, sport cars every where...
Concerning the culture, I was really sad to see that racism is still there and important.
But I keep a very good souvenir of CAP TOWN and I spend very beautifull holidays in South Africa. |

Cape Town is perfect! |

I ran out of adjectives to describe how Beautiful Capetown is. It is a city of extreme opposites, which many 4 star visitors don't get to experience 1st hand. I advise anyone to just try stepping outside & talking to people, because however amazing the mountain in the sea is, (it is the most beautiful sight, especially when it's floodlit at night,) it was the people that have left me with so many more wonderful memories. |

Green Point was wonderfully central for all the Cape Town activities. |
|

 |
When I was there it was there it was the middle of June and being there winter the weather was actually quite surprising. It was warm, the odd thunder storm and almost good enough for shorts and T-shirts.
Lots to see lots to do and very safe if you stick to popular routes. Taxis are cheap, as are most things, however certain local items can be very pricey.
The nicest place to be would be the V&A waterfront which is a very well done up area. |

I really didn't know what to expect from Cape Town as I had heard mixed reviews, great food, lovely views but be midful for your security. Overall I was impressed by the V&A Waterfront, its very scenic down there and the back drop of Cable Mountain was great. We luckliy happened across some great places to eat and despite the presence of armed response security on al houses and high railed walls found it a nice city. We were only hassled once on Long St. I loved that there are lots of buskers around the watefront & the cabel car to table Mountain. Lack of public transport was a pain as you cant really walk anywhere after dark. I would recommend it, its much like a lot of coastal European cities, you need to drive out of the here if you want to see something a little more African. |

Cape town is a beautiful place with really nice people in a fantastic climate |

Cape Town has absolutely everything you need especially if you\'re coming from Europe - it\'s very cheap and has some of the most stunning beaches and scenery in the world. It also has an awesome night life. I came for 2 days and am now going to stay for a month! |

We have only been in Cape Town for three days yet, but we like it. It\'s not as cheap as our usual places in Indonesia/India and other places of Asia - but what is?
It\'s a clean and friendly town, but with a weather that can surprise you with changes from hour to hour.
Not much to shop, and most prices are on European level. |

Hostelworld.com bundles all parts of Cape Town and the suburbs into one \"blob\", this review is for Kommetje part, where we stayed.
If you\'re not surfing, it\'s not much here for you. While the sandy beach is nice, the wind creates sand storms... And without car this area is just about closed. |

Central Cape Town is nice, a lot of interesting places and if it\'s too hot in the day it\'
s pretty easy to get to a beach (even withot the Ford Icon we had). |
|
|
 |
Simon\'s Townis a nice little town, easily (and cheap) reached by commuter train from Cape Town. |
|
|
 |
Cape Town/close to Waterfront is nice. It doesn\'t get full marks for everything, because there are other places topping it a different things. But all-around it\'s very good, and we remember all the nice people (both the natives and fellow tourists). |
