I had the best time here at 33 South. Cape Town is an amazing city, and I could not think of a better place to stay. The atmosphere is unbeatable and the food is amazing.

good vibe, trendy, sexy cindy, no problems during 2 week stay. I would recommend the place to everyone who enjoys comfort at a fair price.

The hostel is in the "observatory" area of Cape Town so to get to the city you must catch a mini bus in and out...which means you MUST leave the city before dark to get back to the hostel for safety reasons. Observatory is a nice area, very funky and eclectic. I had quite a bit of fun and really enjoyed the staff and meeting the other people who stayed at the Backpackers hostel. I would recommend it to anyone.

Fell in love with this place. Booked for 2 days, stayed 2 weeks. The owners are two beautiful, young local girls who actually know everything that is going on in town and whats worth doing in the city (opposed to the 50+ aged owners I found elsewhere who have no idea, recommending places they... more Fell in love with this place. Booked for 2 days, stayed 2 weeks. The owners are two beautiful, young local girls who actually know everything that is going on in town and whats worth doing in the city (opposed to the 50+ aged owners I found elsewhere who have no idea, recommending places they used to hit up back in the middle ages...relying on ponytail for credibility). They still backpack themselves and helped me sort an itinerary through south africa which delivered everything I hoped for. Loved the location, very cruisy suburb with great, CHEAP restaurants and awesome bars that the locals actually go to. Close to supermarket and trains (which are actually really safe!) and get you around this sprawling city easily and ridiculously cheap. I just wanted a bed, but the rooms and how immaculately kept everything was was a real treat...and their meals were amazing. Attracts a great, mixed crowd of travellers. Good times await , I'll be back soonclose
