For sporting enthusiasts Vancouver is definitely a place to be. The city offers year round activities from skiing & snow boarding in the winter time to canoeing & mountain biking in the summer. For those more into watching sports than playing- the city is famous for its ice hockey teams & is even co-hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics. If sports are not your thing the city’s picturesque surroundings are a breath of fresh air- why not experience a whale watching boat trip or for something livelier in the evening check out the new up & coming entertainment district of Granville Street. Whether its culture or sporting action, Vancouver is a real winner.

Vancouver is a great city, quite a small town feel to it. I stayed on Granville street, HI Vancouver. This is a hub or bars and clubs, you are spoilt for choice for a late drink. I love the pubs in Vancouver they are grungie and play great music, very relaxed. You can get around most of Vancouver...more Vancouver is a great city, quite a small town feel to it. I love the pubs in Vancouver they are grungie and play great music, very relaxed. You can get around most of Vancouver by walking and also a good train system. Vancouver is famous for the $1 slice of pizza, so great for a budget holiday. While there I also went to a hockey game, great atmosphere. Only thing that put me off was the number of homeless people on the streets, but they have to be the friendliest I've ever come across.close

Reallyy liked spending time here, great place to shop and chill out, didn't go out much but the night scene looks great. Lots to do at night, ice hockey, skating, cinema etc, but felt not so much to do in the day. We were content chilling out but feel like activities and tourist attractions...more Reallyy liked spending time here, great place to shop and chill out, didn't go out much but the night scene looks great. Vancouver's friendly and has some good bookshops but to be honest, unless you like mountains it's pretty dull. I reckon it will be fantastic in about 20 years if it develops a buzz. The coffee was really bad - watery - in most places and personally I don't rate North American food - although...more Vancouver's friendly and has some good bookshops but to be honest, unless you like mountains it's pretty dull. We were able to walk to some life in the area and there were lots of buses cruising around. Cleanliness... we were dissapointed that there wasn't soap near the bathroom or anywhere, yikes! Overall it's not a terrible place to rest your head if you're just looking to sleep there and spend very...

Top Rated Vancouver Restaurants

  1. Cafe de Medici100%

Wonderful Italian Restaurant with an English Chef. Very friendy and attentive staff make you feel right at home. The food will bring you back each time in town. In fact, I've already mad a reservation for October, 2007. When I say average prices, I mean for Dinner at a top place such as this, and not including drinks

  2. Morton's Steakhouse100%

Morton's is a great steakhouse, not only are the steaks great, but the atmosphere is just perfect for a steakhouse. Service is top-notch although it was a bit of a wait for the food. However, to their benefit it was very busy.

a walk up Fish and chips place for lunch. the fish is soooooooooooo fresh, the boat that brought it in is tied up next door. a few tables on the patio, or take out and eat while strolling Grandville Island. Stuff yourself for less than $9.00 Canadian and really good food.

Top Rated Vancouver Attractions

  1. Urban Pope80%

Shoes - modern style. Definitely not Aldo!!! But not Aldo prices either - it's quite expensive for the really cool shoes, but you can find some deals too....This is the best shoe store ever. Selection is crazy. Some cool bags as well. Some clothing, but really not their specialty. A variety of genres, but they excel at cool, rare styles that your friends will...

  2. Gastown80%

Gastown is an area in Vancouver that burnt down a number of years ago, the buildings that are still standing are listed buildings so are very old style. Due to this I think the area looks a bit run down. As far as nightlife goes you can't beat it plenty of pubs, clubs and restaurants. Do stick to the streets that are busy though as it is not the safest part of...
