We took a cab over to Recoleta Cemetary and sat outside for breakfast in the sunshine before wandering around the cemetary. There are plenty of guided tours you can take but we chose to check the place out ourselves. The cemetary contains the tombs of many famous Argentines and most importantly Eva Peron's grave. It's easy to find, it will be the one with all the tourists standing outside it taking pictures. Some people even lay flowers at her tomb.close

Though some people would never visit a cemetery during their holidays, I definitely recommend even a short visit to this one (there are short and long guided tours of the cemetery if you are interested). The Cemetery includes graves of some of the most influential and important persons of... more Though some people would never visit a cemetery during their holidays, I definitely recommend even a short visit to this one (there are short and long guided tours of the cemetery if you are interested). The Cemetery includes graves of some of the most influential and important persons of Argentina, including several presidents, scientists, and wealthy characters. Internationally, Eva Perón is one of the best known persons buried in this cemetery. Here you will find many elaborate marble mausoleums, decorated with impressive statues and in a wide variety of architectural styles. This, if no other, makes a good reason to visit the cemetery.close
