The staff are very friendly and helpful, and even go to the trouble of learning your name!. The rooms are clean, the beds made daily. And there is fruit for breakfast too :-) I found this hostel to be a great place to relax after a busy day or night in BsAs.

Has such a small, homey feel to it. It felt more like living in a house with 25 friends than being at a hostel. Just staying there was a reason for everyone to introduce themselves to me. Really great hostel. To be honest, it was a little lacking in cleanliness and location (it's about two blocks too far into a bit of a shady neighborhood), but the staff is AMAZING, and the facilities are all great. I'll definitely stay here again, and I'd recommend you do the same. Nos vemos! -Sam

Description of Sandanzas Cultural Hostel

A 'small hostel' in a 'big city'... a 'quiet hostel' in a 'funny city' About Sandanzas Sandanzas is a warm and complete hostel located in San Telmo, the heart of Buenos Aires. It is a house thought of as the meeting place of expressions of local culture and their people. A space to enjoy and participate. With 28 beds we are one of the smaller hostels in the city, and usually it is a quiet place. Sandanzas is a cooperative project of a group of friends. Cultural Hostel? We believe that culture is fundamentally an exchange of experiences which are based in the social connections that we establish; that it is not a product or service to be sold. Our group is made up of people in art, photography, the social sciences, and education. We try to facilitate cultural exchange among our guests using the local cultural scene, ranging from the arts to the social sciences and humanities. The Rooms We have rooms of 1, 2, 4 and 6 beds with shared bathrooms. Rooms are fully equipped with personal night light, lockers, fans, heaters, periodic changing of sheets and daily cleaning service. The Breakfast Between 8:30am and 11:00am we serve coffee, tea, milk, fruit juice, the traditional Mate, homemade breads, butter, homemade Jam, Dulce de Leche, and season fruits. The Bottles Room We have a multipurpose room which is a shared space where artistic and cultural activities take place. This room is also available for guest use, for example as a meeting place or as a dance practice space. About San Telmo San Telmo streets are the perfect place to meet the tango, the candombe and the Buenos Aires history.&[#]160; It is well connected with the most relevant tourist points: from the aristocratic Recoleta to the popular Caminito, La Boca, the Congress, the Obelisco, the Plaza de Mayo and Puerto Madero. The transfer from the entry points to the city is quick and direct.
