We were so pleased with Gabor´s excellent service and local knowledge. we were given the apartment he has in pest and it was great - a work in progress but as a backpacker it was like living in luxury.

Thanks a lot Buda Base. We stayed in the "private ensuite" which was near perfect! The room had everything in it and was nicely arranged to give a cozy feel. We stayed in this hostel for 3 nights in the room for 2 persons. What's a pity that we don't stay in the building looked on the Danube River. But the room that the host Gabor propose us is spacious. He is VERY nice and friendly and ready to help us all time. You can ask for everything with... more We stayed in this hostel for 3 nights in the room for 2 persons. Located in a very central position in Buda, this hostel couldn't be better for that price. People were smart and nice. Our room was clean and comfortable. It's a wise choice if you want to spend a few days in Budapest

The info for getting there is wrong: take bus 7 (both red and black go there!!) or bus 173 (not 73).close

I stayed the weekend of 25th October. I had booked private accom and when I got there (late evening) I was offered a choice of 2 studios. As I chose an off-site option (a few doors down the same street), I can't comment too much on the main hostel. The guys who looked after me (thank you Daniel and Gabor) were very helpful indeed. And thee location is great - old Buda on doorstep and old Pest just over the bridges.close

Nice rooms and social area, close to both Buda and Pest, so easy to see places. Recommend going to the Mongolian BBQ restaurant - amazing food! Huge bathtub so thats cool.

Gabor was great. There had been a mix up with our booking and our original booking wasn't available so he gave us the bed for free for the night. Really helpful. You'll enjoy it

We booked a double room with ensuite which actually turned out to be an apartment in a building a few doors down from the actual hostel. It was of a good size with a small bathroom, an even smaller kitchen, a nice lounge and a mezzanine bedroom. The apartment was well presented and had a good fan...

Well located, near the castle and citadelle. It's a small hostel with friendly and very helpful staff (ordered a pizza for us when we arrived late!). I loved this place and wish I had been able to stay longer. The outside of the building looks a bit old and crappy, but the inside is great. The dorm room was sweet and even had curtains that went around our area to use for privacy. The room has fans which is a definite winner in the summer. Is in a great location on the Buda side. Staff very helpful. Hostel is very small, we were offered a smaller apartment which did not have any windows and was dark and a little noisy. Room was clean but beds were questionable!

Not a party hostel, but a great one to stay at. The owner is super helpful and was great to us. Really close to some good night life and within a 30 minute walk from anywhere you want in the city. I would totally stay here again!

The staff here are all really friendly and made us all feel really welcome. Gabor was so helpful, and the general vibe of the hostel was so relaxed, I would definately come back here!

Wicked little hostel very close to Castle Hill and a short walk and tram from the sites in Pest. Guy running it is very very helpful and knows everything you need to know !! Only downer is its size = not many people to chillax with..

Daniel & Gabor-very kind We got apartment for 2 of us instead of room this was fine with us Shower door needs to be installed or you will have damage! Excellent location in heart of Budapest Hot until we got fan-left window open all nite be prepared for street noise! Would stay there again

The bathroom is in bad condition. There is no door in the shower, so everything gets soaked wet. Please put doors there and have doormats or towels to dry the floor!!!

Location is super. Very small hostel with great charm, is more of an apartment with one dorm and a few private rooms. One private is upstairs from the dorm but has no wall seperating the two, just a banister and yes, one is curtained off from the dorm itself which may disappoint some.
