Personally, I do not recommend this hostel since : a. This is not a hostel but more like an apartment operated by one old woman (who speaks no English but only Germany as foreign language). b. The location is just so so and; c. There is only one bath room shared by 10 or 11 logers. d.... more Personally, I do not recommend this hostel since : a. There is only one bath room shared by 10 or 11 logers. d. Price for female room is 16 euro/night but actually we (3 girls) shared a large room with 4 boys. The only seperation is a demi-transparent red curtain.close

Despite the excellent facilities and good location I was made to feel very unwelcome at this hostel. I am always respectful to other people yet felt like a trouble- maker for even raising my voice after 10pm.

This is a private apartment turned hostel during the summer months. The owner keeps a clean, orderly environment. Lockers, kitchen, and WORKING internet are a plus. Seriously the best hostel I've ever been to in Europe. The staff were kind and thoughtful. The location is excellent near the center and the public transport. Security was great and the place was very clean.

Very nice hostel. Staff gives useful information about the city,bar,pub,etc. Location is very close metro,tram and bus. You will not disappointed it.

There was always someone in so your stuff was pretty safe and he had free internet that you could use whenever you want. Francis even has an extensive movie collection that you can watch and i even put some of his movies onto my Ipod which was really cool! Its in a fairly good location but Budapest is massive anyway with everything extremely spread out so really its in a good a location as any. Once again, Apicolone is the hostel ive like the most and ive been travelling for over 6 weeks and stayed in a lot of hostels! Martin, Greg and Courtney from Scotland.close

I recently rented a double room for a week with my girlfriend. I can honestly say that it is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in and having travelled the world for 5 years I’ve stayed in a few. Ticks all the boxes highly recommended

The rooms were clean and big and the owner was helpful. The hostel itself is nice, but the location seems to be in a somewhat rundown, although not seedy, location in the middle of Pest, easily accessible to all major sites and tourist destinations.

Excellent hostel that's at an excellent location within very close reach of Kelati train station (10 minute walk or 1 metro stop). Looks can be deceiving as first impression of the building is kinda run down on the outside, etc, but it's pretty good inside and great value of money.

It's a very cosy and warm hostel in a large apartment with four rooms. Francisco is fantastic in taking care of us, and helpful with information we needed as well as recommendations for places. The owner of the hostel is super nice and very helpful with suggesting places to go and people to see. the tall ceilings are also great. the rooms are clean and quiet at night. if you are looking for a crazy party scene, this isnt the place to stay but for those of you who want a convenient and...

very nice place, very clean, and the staff is probably the friendliest in Europe...but I would not recommend it if you are looking to meet people or party. It is very small and very quiet. All in all enjoyable, but not a typical hostel.

Francisco was gr8...I havent used this statement since I was like in kindergarten (dont judge the book by its cover blah blah) but the place was that...the building was really really really old but plenty of character and very historic...the area was a bit run down...but my...Apicolone was a 5*...

There wasn´t a proper bed in the room, which is a bit strange. A sofa is not really comfortable to sleep in. And there was not a whole lot of privacy for a couple. An ok hostel but not the best value for the price, i think.

Great small Hostel!! Comfy, clean, good facilities and in good location to see the sights and sounds of Budapest. One downfall is this one mosquito that bit the crap out of me every night. Hot tip:Try an keep the windows closed.
