If you are looking for a sleep in, then avoid Room 1 because breakfast is served outside the door. Most of the guests here were Hungarian, who liked to eat breakfast early and talk loudly too. Otherwise, the room was large and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

¶ ¶ Very kind, friendly and helpful staff. It's a place with a character of its own. Very close to Octogon Sq. metro. We would chose it on next trip also.

The rooms are spacious and clean. We were there in December, it was freezing outside, and we had to ask Eitan to keep the heating working all day (normally he would only turn it on in the evening for a few hours). Even so, the room was still very cold - luckily there were enough blankets in the closet. That's just to say that the heating system had a hard time keeping up with the temperature; beware of traveling to Budapest in winter! Eitan is a very nice guy and always acommodates your requests quickly. Very recommended!close

Eitan's hostel is closed to the center and is a perfect solution for spend some days in Budapest. The rooms are very large and clean. Finally Eitan is a cheap hostel.

Very excellent location within walking distance of almost any attractions. Public transport is also very close. If somebody is looking for a rather cheap place to sleep and character is not important, then this guesthouse is first choice. But don't expect to feel too comfortable.

We were without water for about 5 hours one day due to construction/maintenance, which wouldn't have been bad except that we weren't forewarned.

Eitan's guesthouse is very close to a tourist information + subway (Oktogen, yellow subway). Also recommended: Liszt ter (same square as tourist information center) with nice café's and restaurants at a nice price. --- At first we were surprised by the location of the guesthouse, it was situated on the fifth floor of an old building, with graffiti on the fontdoor and building. People in the building (Hungarians living there on other floors) are friendly though, the staff's English is adequate and helpful! In general: Good price-quality relation and recommended for young couplesclose

Excellent value, no breakfast included in stated price but it is available for an additional £2 a night and at £18 pppn right bang in the city centre you can hardly complain. We stayed 7 nights, would thoroughly recommend and would definitely go again. En-Suite room had Sat TV with three English language channels and a fridge, the guy running it spoke excellent English and could not have been more helpful. Lack of an individual safety deposit box the only real complaint, there is however a safe available and the guesthouse itself is secure enough.close

I was charged the full price on arrival 12,250HUF instead of 11,250HUF!!!!! I was disappointed not because of the extra amount of money I had to pay but because it shows that your booking service is not reliable!

It's very confusing and may be a little intimidating because the entrance of the building has graffiti all over it. 2) If you are adverse to cigarette smoke, you may not want to stay here. One of the staff members smokes like a chimney and you will smell it all the time. 3) Some additional charges include: 5 euros each night for AC and 5 euros for every breakfast in the morning. Ask first! 4) The room overall was comfortable and fine for budget travelers. It's not the Four Seasons so don't think you're going to get that. It was very clean and the location was great.close

This allows you to catch the feeling of the real living in Budapest. Don't expect any luxury, it is simple, basic, and clean. There are no special security measures, but 24h somebody is present and takes care of everything. The hostel is located very close to one of "the places to be", the Liszt Ferenc tér, and very near to the metro station Octogon, thus, you can move around quickly. Within 5-10 mins, you reach most attractions by metro or by foot. With public transport, you can reach the airport within 1h. Staff is very helpful, if you try to communicate with gestures, English and German are not always an advantage. The hostel is simple and clean; with a bathroom (towels are provided) and a bedroom as well as a common kitchen you can use for breakfast or cooking. There is no breakfast included. Very recommendable for a stay to explore the city's attractions.close

Towels smelled of cigarette smoke, and the duvet on the double bed was two single duvets - perhaps advertised as twin room? Otherwise very good. Staff very friendly.

the owner and the maid in there are very rude...they will go into your room as often as they wish without knocking or ring a bell at all. Rates is changable as they wish...we have to bargin for the right price. Only person which is very helpful is the young manager , but he is not always around...

Be aware that a double is actually two single beds pushed together with two single duvets. Eitan also doesn't take credit card, so make sure you have enough HUF's left at the end of your stay.

Eitan's has a great location between the two main train stations right in the middle of Pest. There are plenty of cafe's and shopping nearby. It was also the cleanest place that we stayed our entire trip and there is air-conditioning available. I would definately stay there again.
