Quiet, traditional family home snuggled in our 1920's vila, 200m from the Gara de Nord. We offer our guests an alternative to impersonal high tech hotels. We are wood floors, tapestries and wrought iorn,: hot tea, cookies and an old piano: pancakes, backgammon and old books. Our rooms are decorated with family treasures and vary as a result. Not one is the same but all are cozy and personable. Bathrooms are all newly renovated. The coffee room is open 24 hours a day for you to relax, enjoy a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and shoot the breeze. A breakfast of pancakes, fruit and bread with homemade jam is included and on Saturday mornings there is a cold buffet breakfast to give to the cooker a day off! All our staff speak English, the owner's French and English, so we can help answer your questions and help you get around. Please contact us if you wish to arrange an airport transfer. (contra cost) Vila 11 can arrange city walking tours of Bucharest, trips to Snagov lake, Mogosoia Palace etc. Car, mobile phone and bicycle rental available. We are pet and kid friendly, and we have no smoking rooms. I must note that we are NOT wheelchair accessible, sorry! **Please note: Your booking will be cancelled if you should arrive later than your estimated arrival time & don't inform us about it!!**

I've stayed there for 2 nights and was satisfied with accommodation & service, but I admit, it wasn't a superb place. Room, towels and sheets were clean but a little worn; for breakfast we got delicious home-made pancakes, but I heard you get the same things everyday; bathroom was a little...

Sweet little town house, but more a house where the inhabitants stayed out the way and so were never around to help. Were on a constant sabbath by the looks of it, not just for the day when they had a sign up. Canadian though so...

On arrival, we were told that a Hostelworld booking confirmation was not, in their eyes, a 'booking'. So if you book it online follow it up with a call or email to make sure you have it secured. Other than that, the place was OK.

Had they bothered to present a clean room, my stay here may have eventuated!close

The hostel has potential to be a fantastic place but it just needs to be managed a little better - being greeted by children is not ideal and having to wait hours for a room that you have prebooked for a certain time is also not the best.

Lacking in security, which could be a concern.close

The photos really don't do it justice - it's an atmospheric bohemian family home with a wrought-iron staircase running down the centre. Though it is a bit far away from the town centre, it is walkable, and the owners will give you advice about which buses to take. Oh, and the pancakes have to be eaten to be believed. Thinking about them makes my mouth water! Thanks very much to the family at Villa 11.close

This was fine with us but what really really put us off the most is the most unfriendly look we had from one of the staff/family who dealt mainly with the guests. To ask for help we felt guilty knocking at their door (which was clearly marked 'PRIVATE- keep out!') The room was adequate and served us very well for two nights however we had a funny look from the staff when we asked for a double bed (we're gay couple) which we ignored. If they're in the hotel business - they should be used to it by now. Breakfast - the kitchen is cramped with about 8 stools and there are much more staying at this place. Food hygenic - rather poor we thought. Well, you get what you pay for.close
