If you like fish, then head for La Marée on the rue de Flandre. This restaurant is run by a Portuguese couple and the food is second to none, especially the fish and mussels. The place is quite small and fills up fast so reserving is recommended. Pleasant staff and lively atmosphere - favoured... more

Was only here for an hour or so but could've stayed for the entire night. It's a bit of an institution in the city and is open years. If you do go make sure to have a 'half and half', a mix of white wine and champagne.

This little bistro style restaurant on the Place Ste Catherine is my 'local'. The food is an excellent mix of Franco-Belgian cuisine with nods to other traditions as well. Often innovative without being outrageous or silly, the value-for-money quotient here is very high in my opinion. The menu... more
