My wife and I stated one night and found it fine other than having to push two single beds together.

I encountered 3 different staff members, and all were polite, helpful and informative. Bathrooms could definately use an upgrade and a bit more of a scrub. For the price and location, it was about what I expected.

Great location, walking distance of everything, close to Boston Common. It's kind of steril but the rooms have all that is necessary and the staff is more than friendly, they are awesome.

Very good value and a great location. Breakfast offerings, which were included in the price, were a lot more than I expected.

Don't come with your car. The information at hostelworld.com that you can park on street is wrong. There is only an expensive parking garage near by. The rooms are okay, the breakfast is good and the location is excellent.

Was unaware when booking that this hostel was also a permanent residence for some of Boston's less fortunate women. While our room was quite adequate, I feel that this should have been made clear before we booked. It certainly showed another side of life in the good old US of A!!!!

The security was great, as you had to ring a bell and be let in after 4pm. Breakfast is included with rate! I would definately recommend this hostel to anyone.close

There is a strange smell in all the rooms. The bathrooms are not very clean. There are a couple of old people whoe live there permanently which also smell. I would not go there again. But you can feel safe there.

Staff were lovely and helpful. However if you want traveller atmosphere you won't get it here. It has a lot of residents rather than people passing through. Clean and basic so if you're looking for a bed reasonably near to Boston centre then ok.

room is ok, furnishings are a little worn. bed was not very comfortable and the night i stayed there was a lot of noise outside until the early hours. but it is very secure and the bathrooms are fine. good for a short stay as the city centre is easily accessible.

I paid $56.00 a night and stayed 5 nights. This is much more than I agreed to as per my statements. Also they would not honor the down payment of $20.00 + I paid to you. They did give me a nice breakfast each morning but I would have never stayed there at that price.

hardly a hostel and a little more pricey, this hotellike-hostel is a good third choice for Boston. Location is a 15 minute walk from any good bar, but not 'in the outback'.

Cheap and central...Good breakfast service as well. The rooms sometimes smell funny and the baths could be cleaner, but overall it's a very good price for a bed and a roof in downtown Boston.

It's a great place. I had a spacious room just for myself eventhough I thought it would be some kind of dorm. There were rooms with 2 beds as well. Everybody is nice and helpful. I would definitively come back!

the common areas are nice, spatious, there is a beautiful piano and some computers..but the room is very small and the absence of Air Con makes it unstandable in hot nights. other than that, i guess you get used to the room. We stayed an extra night because it's not that expensive.

Very basic accommodation. Breakfast was decent--a few unprocessed food items were offered. People slam the doors as they leave the room, which makes a good night's sleep difficult, although otherwise it is quiet. I honestly wouldn't want to stay here again--it was like staying in a school.

As mentioned by other guests, there was a strange smell, it seems an "old" place and it was too hot in the rooms! I wouldn't go again, but the advantage is the centrality of the location.

Good place to stay in Bosotn. Close to subway and nice Coley Square and in a very safe neighbourhood with plenty of resturants and pubs. The showers could be cleaner.

party people stay away from here cos it's quite a rigorous environment. some of the guests are permanent, most of them are elderly who have been housed over there. it's a serene place, i met at breakfast some sweet old ladies who deeply touched my heart. excellent value for the money spent!

Thought it a bit strange when they told me to use the bathroom closest to me because it was a co-ed floor, even when I asked about a women's bathroom because the one closest to me said "men's" on the door.

A tidy place, not far away from the center. The wifi is a bit shaky in the evening but is otherwise accessible (in the 2nd floor at least). This is a good place to stay if you want to avoid noise and big crowds.

I had a great time in Boston, in no small part thanks to the really helpful staff at Berkeley Residence! It was so easy to get around from where I was staying. I ended up being out a little later than I thought one night, but had no trouble finding my way back and felt totally safe! Thanks so much!
