The Hotel Il Canale is located in the centre of medieval city, near the 'Two Tower' and opposite the Aposa. There are 17 bedrooms all with a mini bar, colour satellite TV, direct outward telephone line, air conditioning, hairdryer and bathroom with shower. This is a natural stream that was traditionally used as a source of drinking water and once filled the moat that flanked the walls. Today it is enclosed in an underground tunnel that crosses the city. The hotel is only 15 minutes by taxi to Bologna Airport, near the train station and by car is near Piazza VIII Agosto.

Next to a sex shop, but there weren't any creeps around. Excellent location, about 1/2 way between Piazza Maggiore and the train station.

We didn't actually end up staying here because the water had broken, but they moved our reservation to an amazing hotel just down the street that was even better and in better location but kept the price the same (price would have been considerably more).
