Part of the Riau Islands in Indonesia, Bintan Island covers an area of around 1,800 square kilometres. Home to a mix of upmarket resorts and small local villages, Bintan’s capital city is called Tanjung Pinang and is a short ferry ride from Singapore. While you’re here, you can visit the numerous beaches and either soak up the sun or take part in the water activities offered. Many of these can be found around the Sumpat area.
