very nice hotel with an unbeatable price. Location in a very cozy hutong is great.

overall good play to stay in PEK if you want a quality budget hotel (and want to avoid the hostel scene).

The staff cannot speak fluent English, which is a bit frustrating when trying to communicate with them. If you argue long enough with them, they will let you plug your laptop right into their hub, and charge you 10RMB per hour. The restaurant staff does not speak English either.

A real bargain, about half an hour walk from the Forbidden City. Slap bang in the middle of one of the traditional hutongs means you get to see a side of Beijing that lots of tourists don't. It's all so reasonably priced for a hotel that gives you very clean, ensuite rooms, cheap intenet access... more A real bargain, about half an hour walk from the Forbidden City. A great place for the price. My only concern was that no one spoke English. They seemed to have a very difficult time with simple tasks like getting a taxi, helping me make a phone call etc, simple things that I thought would be everyday tasks. They tried hard to please, though.
