Bangkok is very exciting, but is very full on. Would\'nt recommend more than about five days here as it starts to get a bit much after a while with the traffic and heat. The people who arnt trying to sell you stuff are absolutly lovely, and its a cheap place to eat and get around.

Bangkok is one of those cities people either love or hate there doesn't seem to be a middle ground.
Bangkok is a crowded, hot and the exhaust fumes will knock you over but that is also part of it's charm. Bangkok is full of sights, smells of cooking and sounds. If you are looking for a relaxing place this is not it.
If you are looking for cheap clothing, designer hand bags and CD's/Dvd's the knock offs are everywhere. One of the best places to shop is the weekend markets at Chatuchak.
Accommodation is cheap from everything from the 5 Stars to backpacker hostels. |

A busy busy city with a lot going on. The people are lovely and they have some super shopping areas. Take a tuk tuk for a laugh and live it up in a nice hotel for a cheap price. The food served is delicious and cheap.
It can get very smoggy and getting around is not too easy. 3 days is sufficent! |

Bangkok is a very interesting city, but also one that you prob don't want to spend more than a few days in. It's a pretty busy place; getting around on the tuk tuks is a novelty for the first hour but a pain in the ass after a while. There is plenty to see and do, but for some reason, after 3 days, the place just begins to grind on you. |

Bangkok was my first experience of Thailand. First thing I remember is the extreme humidity and not so nice smell. Stayed one night here and that was plenty. Food was okay and accommodation is very cheap. Did a tour of the city on the river also. An okay place but still an interesting visit |

Bangkok is a really busy city. it smells really bad in places and there is a high level of traffic and polution. getting around in the city really easy and cheapish. Thailand wasn't as cheap as i was thinking but still cheap enough for a vist. also getting transport to other parts of the country is really easy. there are pleanty of tourist shops, enough for one every 20 meters it seems at times. |

So much to do in Bangkok , what can I say. |

When you come out of the airport, you may be shocked at the horrible humid and sultry weather.
But when you get inside of building or transportation hot weather is not a problem any more.
This city of angels is full of attraction. |

Bankgkok is awesome, however try to get to the beaches and get out of city... Damn hot too with the humidity! |

Very easy to get around. The people are very friendly and helpful. The Grand Palace is a must see. |

The city is very hot during April. |

Unfortunately it rained a lot, but all in all, Ko Samui (especially Chaweng) was really nice.
Make sure you ask at a travel agent how much the truck taxi's cost BEFORE you ask them. |

Can be hard to be a vegetarian, important to learn to say 'no fish sauce' as they put it in everything! |

WATCH OUT for a lot of scams EVERYWHERE! From the moment I got off the airplane, there were a lot of people who claim to be taxi's... don't listen to them... go down stairs to the first floor where there are lots of legit taxi's waiting (the taxi's will have the lighted sign saying TAXI METER on top) And make sure that they turn ON the meter (sometimes, they'll turn on the radio & try to tell you that the meter is on when it's not). It shouldn't cost more than about 250Baht (around $8 US Dollars) to get to your place of accomodation. ALSO, make sure that you know what their money looks like, b/c sometimes, people will try to rip you off at night... the taxi driver was supposed to give me 500BAht for change. Instead he had given me a 50Baht WITH a ZERO added to the end!!! It was late at night when my plane landed so I couldn't tell in the dark until the next day when I check my money! So be CAREFUL wherever you go in Thailand. The scammers act really nice & extremely helpful when they're conning you... and sellers will make you feel guilty if they have to inorder to get you to buy their things. So the golden rule: If some approaches you, chances are they're trying to rip you off or get you to buy something... if you need something, you'd be the one to approach, right? =) If you can, try to use the skytrain & the metro system only if you don't want to deal with taxi & tuk tuks that will try to take advantage of your money. Also, I'm from Hawaii, and even for me, Bangkok was just unbearable with the heat most of the time. Had if not been for the high temperature & all the scams, my trip there would have been a lot more favorable. Have a safe trip! |

Nice place although very difficult to communicate with staff as little or no english. |

Enjoyable but very chaotic. We did enjoy our stay there but it was good to get out of the hustle and bustle. |

Third time in Bangkok but most enjoyable yet. We used the mrt and sky train this time and diiscovered the night bazaar. Great place to eat and enjoy german beers. We liked the old city too. |

Bangkok is a great city to go to if you are look for cheap food, drinks and clothes. However, it is very hot, polluted and congested and so I would say 3 nights is the maximum time you need there. |

I thought it was a really nice place to stay, I was having a short holiday before I had to move to my apartment in bangkoko to study. The enviroment is very friendly and if you need a taxi they help you find a taxi^^. The shops are near by but if you want a mall it is a littloe walk away from the hotel and near the mall is the sky train for bangkok, this is a great location for the hotel and for any one who wants to spend a nice relaxing time in Bangkok. |

Fore me Bangkok is always a great place, big city, sometimes a lot of smog, but friendly people, good for shopping and hang around, also for sight-seeing. |

This is a city definately worth seeing. The people are fantastic and if you get into the swing of the city then I think it's one of the best in the world. The food is amazing and cheap too. The weather is the only issue with it being too hot to be out in the mid afternoon. Otherwise enjoy. |

Fantastic city, very clean and had no bad experiences. felt pretty safe and people were so friendly, watch out for tuk tuk drivers, they are out to rip you off most of the time and will drive you in circles around bangkok. |

An incredible introduction to Asia - food, people, sites and partying is quite overwhelming. |

If you're into adventure, and experiencing the more traditional Thai culture, go to Chiang Mai. Bangkok can be done in a day. Unless, you really like the club/nightlife scene. |

Enjoyed a lot. Pity it was too hot. Going to come again as soon as I can. |

Chilled with backpackers as locals are not friendly! May have been because I'm a young girl and most only seem to care if you are a guy if you know what I mean... |

I like everything about Bangkok exept the heat, the traffic, and the sooty air. Great entertainment options, and great cuisine. Good value, too, if you can stay away from tourist traps. |

Bangkok is the nr 1 city to party and go shopping, especially Siam squere, MBK can be quite fun to.
There's nothing that I dislike in Bangkok...

We can see plenty of art work here. The people are friendly and hard working. Eating out is convenience and clean. |

hmm.. the city was nice and very cultural, but also has an underground side that if you're not really ready for, it might shock you... shopping is great but remember to bargain, venders tell you a price which is like 3 times the amt. you actually should be paying... remember to ask taxi drivers to do meter.. b/c if its flat rate.. they're pretty much taking advantage of you... didn't stay in bangkok for too long.. headed for phuket.. but all in all.. the city was great :) |

If you are looking for a fast paced get away then Bangkok is the place to go. The city will envelope you so be prepared to go with the flow and stay open minded and flexible. If you need down time go to the park or catch a train and head south. |

Bangkok is a pretty crazy city. Either you like it or you don't. But it's unlike anywhere else in the world, and is a haven for backpackers. Just make sure not to get ripped off by the tuk-tuk drivers! |

an open enough country which still remain its traditional cultural attractions. |

:-)
This city truly never sleeps. While I wouldn\'t wanna live here, any trip to Thailand deserves at least a few days in the capital city.
And besides...one night in Bangkok...just doesn\'t do it right... :-) |

Very friendly staff and quite secure as guard on duty 24Hours. The pool was a good surprise on a hot day. Only drawback located in old town Bangkok so had to take a taxi to downtown Bangkok. Alternatively a walk of 15 minutes to nearest BTS skytrain station |

Corner toilets can be slightly small (Room 208). Was alright for me because I'm petite but for my guy, it was slightly crammed. The other rooms should be fine. Loved the fact that they clean the rooms daily & change the sheets + towels. Wonderfully prepared breakfast provided although it can get slightly boring because it's the same thing everyday but one cannot complain that it's provided & presented in a really nice manner. |

I would stay more than two days. |

Bangkok\'s great for shopping. Check out the Siam Centres, MBK, Koh San Road, The weekend markets. When you\'ve done shopping get a massage, manicure, pedicure etc to make sure you\'re looking your best for the koh san road nightclub. whoop. |

Bangkok can be easily done on a budget, but the key is to plan travel beforehand. Sights can be somewhat spread out, and taxi fares add up. Also, it would be a good idea to research how much something should cost, so you don\'t end up paying too much. |
|

 |
bangkok was good...very busy and the pollution in the air makes u feel a bit ill!! there is so much to see and using the Tuk Tuk\'s are great if you can get them to take you to a few places quite cheaply- approx 30baht or less per person!
the hostel was hotel quality, but a little too far from the city. we didn\'t think this would be a problem until we were trying to find a cab to take us home after a big day in Bangkok. a lot of the drivers didn\'t know where is was (we showed them the map the hostel gave us) or they didn\'t want to drive that far!!! so keep this in mind if you are planning to do a lot of things in the city centre!! |

I was there on my round asia tour and landed during the late afternoon. The weather was pretty much the same as most of the other asian countries during the summer, Hot and Humid! But you'll get used to the sweating like you got out of the shower and still feel sticky all over. The sights are pretty cool since we went to see the grand temple and bhudda's. The food was cheap even the restaurant type thai food cost us around 500 bhat. We went to food courts and most we spent there was 200 bhat for the two of use on meals. I stayed away from any western food since I didn't travel 5000 miles just to eat a hamburger. (from Canada)
Oh yeah we stayed at the baiyoke sky hotel it's a pretty awesome view of the city from there and there's a night market right at your door step! my wife spent like 5000 bhat or so and we ended up with a cheap imitation luggage and filled with new clothes! they're all fakes there but very cheap like 100 bhat for a shirt before bargaining. So it was cheaper to do that instead of paying the hotel laundry service hahaha!
Worst experience there was taking a tuk tuk. They come up to you all helpful, friendly and offering to ride you to the touristy places for 20 bhat if they can drop you off at these waste of time gem and other tourist junk places. Boy that was a waste of time! cause from that they get a nice gas coupon worth like 1-2 litres of fuel, for 40 bhat a liter they are making more off you by using you instead of you paying. Plus the wasted time running around the city.
If you guys need to get around, taxi's and the MRT are the only way to go. Leave the tuk tuks for the suckers to take, I've talked to locals and they never take tuk tuks so that more than tells you what good they are.
One more tip of you are going into a taxi ask for metered fare before you even get in, and if they refuse just close the door and flag the next one, they are everywhere. Reason is if it sounds cheap or they aren't using a meter then they are running you around those tourist sucker sites like the tuk tuks and you waste time running around in circles instead of getting to more sight seeing.
Hope this review was helpful to you guys and enjoy the trip! We sure did, stayed for 3 days and it felt like more than enough. |
