It looks a lot more run-down than Seville, but the city is charming, with a lovely riverside park laid out by some Moorish caliph, and the incredible Cathedral - once a Mosque - the Mesquita. There are royal palaces, Islamic ruins, the Alcazar and Viana palaces. Well worth visiting. Possibly one of the best tapas restaurants in the whole of Spain into the bargain. In common with much of the rest of Spain, however, the nightlife at the weekends is pretty hectic, with noisy crowds in the streets until all hours of the morning, so it is advisable to choose a hotel away from the more touristy areas or on main squares where people congregate.close

It is also conveniently located near the best areas of...

1Of all the hostels we've been to, we've never had staff that were as friendly and helpful as Willie and Ele! A family run hostel, La Casona is comfortable, clean, and a great base to have in Cordoba and environs. The family atmosphere will make anyone feel totally at home! Highly recommended!

Aldea Hostel 88%
Staff messed up with our resevation but Mathias was helpful to get second of the two nights right. Place is great for party but not for resting because of the noise. Common areas were clean except for women bathroom and shovers after the saturday night.

8A great hostel with lovely staff who cant do enough for you when it comes to doing things in and around Cordoba. Kitchen is a bit small for so many guests and dont expect to get near the computer while you`re there!

1Very comfortable and clean hostel with really friendly and helpful staff. One problem - there are too few showers, so be prepared to queue!

Betos100%
In terms of things to do in Cordoba, there isn't much, but if you want a steak and bottle of wine for dinner, this place is almost on par with desnivels in Buenos Aires. Need I say more, I think not. Amazing

A huge disappointment. Someone in the guide book got a pay off as this place was fairly pricey for as good an italian I could have whipped up in the hostel. Thought I was treating myself, and in the end, felt robbed! Don't touch it! That will teach me for trying to avoid a steak by having Italian. Should just stick to staks!
